Who gets signed first: Winston or Newton?

Winston is one of those guys who's capable of being really good, unfortunately also capable of being really bad.

Anybody that signs him is going to have to believe they have a coach who's capable of helping him minimize the bad. But then you have to ask yourself if a QB guy like Bruce Arians couldn't do it, who can?

Depends on the ego's.

I think Cam is going to have to swallow some pride on his contract, and Winston may have to be OK with being on the bench for a bit.

Looking around the league I’m not so sure Cam will start for a team week 1... He may be best off waiting to sign with a team whose starting QB gets hurt. Chargers probably his best bet to start day 1, but honestly no guarantee he’d beat out Taylor...

If you are Cam, you can't worry about that.

I always found it very strange that Carolina never had a QB in house that could even sniff at pushing Cam, but that's what he needs right now....he needs to forget about the politics of the game, and just go sign and work his ass off....

I think that he would beat out whomever is in LA or in NE, if the shoulder would hold up.

I think it will be after the draft, if at all. He may sit out this year and maybe that’s it.

New England has like $3 million in cap space, which I would think had a big contribution to Brady leaving.

The Chargers are in a position to draft a quarterback and have Tyrod which is probably a great deal cheaper than Cam.

theres Jacksonville but they are really excited about Minshew,..

Miami maybe.

Personally I think Cam should go sign as a backup with like Pittsburgh. Ben may or may not come back to form and Cam could start.

Cam could go to Tampa and back up Tom Brady. Brady is resilient but there’s a chance and of course Bruce would do wonders for Cam.

There’s several options like that. Stay in football,.. stay in shape and stay relevant.

Yeah, honestly if I were him I’d go to Buffalo on a really cheap (I’m talking like $5M with heavy playing time incentives) deal to compete with Allen. If Cam gets healthy and is fully invested he’d easily win that competition and make that team a legit SB contender immediately.

    • He's turned into quite a gunslinger
    • Hey guys, remember when we won those meaningless games in 2010 and it cost us the #1 pick and the chance to draft Cam? Oh.... right I get that's more of an extreme example because it got us a HOF caliber QB.  But it's the general concept, you want to win late season games when you have the pieces in place to make a run the next season, we currently are not in that place. Herbert and Sewell are the ones I point to so much, because we literally lost out on 2 franchise different makers by 1 draft slot.  Give us those two players while we still have CMC, Moore, and the rest of the picks we gave up for Bryce, and we'd have been a legit playoff contender the last few years. Draft position matters in the NFL more than any other sport (other than the #1 pick in the NBA in a year with a generational talent).
    • It’s so crazy. If we had a shot for pick 1 and there was some generational player there then yeah maybe I could get behind the draft position argument. I’d say most GMs and coaches aren’t diving into the draft right now. They are trying to win games.
