Panthers sign former Cardinals NT

We still need two more DTs.  I had no delusion that we would go into the draft with just KK.  I say we still double dip as this signing had no bearing on my thoughts of taking two DTs in the draft.  I figured it was only a matter of time before the team grabbed a FA DT.

After declining the option on DT Dontari Poe the Panthers filled a need by signing former Cardinals DT Zach Kerr to a two-year deal. This adds a veteran presence beside Pro Bowler Kawann Short. Doesn't mean Carolina wouldn't take a DT like Auburn's Derrick Brown with the seventh pick of the draft. The Panthers also signed WR DeAndrew White to a one-year deal. More depth there.

I don't have to take your word either...

Facts are Little was still rated to be a top 50 player in the draft by everybody... He was one of the top rated Olinemen most of his playing life..

He isn't garbage and deserves opportunity to develop.

Ppl like you would have given up on Lane Johnson, Eric Fishers and Jake Matthews who both sucked there 1st year in the league..

Ps.. They said the same thing about Pep..

Why I think he is a bust at tackle and willing to see if he can be a LG..                                                       At the combine:     Greg Little, OT, Ole Miss
Greg "Mr. Reliable" Little did not have the best showing in Indianapolis. He wasn't a great interview, and he didn't bench for some reason. His 40 time (5.33) and 10-yard split (1.84) weren't good either. Even worse, he was sloppy in the drills. Little's stock is falling for sure

In speaking to team sources, there was a combination of factors that led to Little sliding. One of those problems was concern over his consistency. Some teams felt that Little was not as consistent as he should have been in college. From the tape, some evaluators also felt they did not see enough nastiness out of Little, and that was also reflected in his pre-draft interviews, where he came across as a nice kid but not a fighter and bully as a football player. Sources at other teams said Little has everything you look for as a player, but those issues of personality and consistency suppressed their enthusiasm.

Little possesses the important combination of size, length and quickness as a prototypical left tackle prospect. While he wasn't asked to do it much in 2018, he has the athletic ability to handle zone-blocking duties, which could suit his skill-set more than a physical rush attack. Little is a natural bender with good feet and pepper in his punch as blind-side protector, but his average anchor and inconsistent body control create some concern. He will be an early starter at left tackle, but needs to improve his strength and eliminate his tendency to lean in order to reach the potential his physical and athletic traits offer.

Greg Little projects as a boom or bust prospect at the NFL level. Little shows flashes of natural athleticism, particularly for his size. Furthermore, Little's deep pass sets are effective with his length and foot quickness. But Little is super raw in his framing of blocks and footwork, he takes false steps and fails to roll through contact to create forward push with consistency in the run game. Little's effort is also of concern, he will need to be coached/motivated if he's going to be a starter.

You used walterfootball really?? And Walter still had him as a top 100 player in the draft and the 6th rated OT..

Draft network had him the to 50 as well..

The point is it's still only been 1 season where he was injured most of the year... You don't give up on a 2nd round draft pick after 1 injured rookie season... It's just not going to happen..

He might been in the top 50 but Willis, Thomas, and Becton are all rated higher than Little.  I said put him at guard...I wasn't giving up on him completely just cause he isn't a Left Tackle material.

They aren't on this team..I have to give up another asset to get them...I don't have to use another pick or not get 1 of the best defensive players in this draft to get Little... That is the point.. Little has a chance to be a good LT with developing and I still get to have Brown, Okudah, or Simmons.. Most ppl would rather do that then giving up on a player after 1 injured  rookie season... Draft another person for that position who could bust out just as much his 1st season.. Because the draft is a gamble and nothing is promised...

Once again I didn't say give up on him.  He is not tackle material is all, and by your comment you might not be so certain he is able to be an elite Left Tackle.  Burns was suppose to be our next JP last year.  If Okudah is there at the 7th spot...you grab his butt.  That is the only Defensive person I would take at 7th.  You can fine just as good of players at LB's or DT's in the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th rounds.  Remember you also need a young center to take Paradis place one day too.  He was another one of those weak spots we had last year beside LT on the OLINE.

Again this is your opinion based on no facts... And you are giving up on the Idea of him playing the position he was drafted for.. Based again on no facts just your opinion..

Brown and Simmons IMO and others are great defensive players that you might not find "just as good players" in later rounds.. Your beloved Walterfootball and Draft Network thinks the same thing .. That's why they don't have players in their position rated close to them...

I don't know what they are doing with Paradis.. But I'm also not ready to make a final judgment on him based on 1 season in a new season after coming off a horrific injury either... Unlike you of course who for some reason feel they can make final decisions based off of little to no facts ...

Why would you say that a 21/22 year old rookie who was held out of 12 games for concussion and ankle issues that he is not tackle material? Dude only played 4 games last year and you can confidently say that at his age, and only a handful of games under his belt, that he is better suited for a position he did not play in college or the NFL, more over than the position he has played since college?

Give him a year in Okung's back pocket learning the ropes and getting healthy and then you could have a 23-year old LT starting in '21.
