Panthers will draft Justin Herbert

I think Panthers will not wait until next year to draft the QB of the future, but will do that this year by drafting Herbert and let him learn behind Bridgewater for a year (or two).  The rest of the draft picks will be used for Defense.

Marty has shown a lot of interest in Herbert.   Now he may be posturing for potential trade down opportunities to acquire more picks but I think the more likely scenario is that he gets drafted by the Panthers.

How would you feel about that if it happens?

And if you're wrong will you admit it??

After this offseason it sounds like a dumb idea with no direction...

It would be stupid on Teddy's part to sign here knowing the same offseason they were drafting his replacement... He had to have some insurance that he would be giving a chance to be the future here before they look for another QB...

Sure, I have no ego in this thing we do as fans. It's fun to speculate and for me it makes sense if they truly believe that Herbert is starting caliber.  There is no guarantee we will pick high enough in the next draft to grab anyone better and all indications are that Rhule isn't interested in tanking this year.

Or he just took the money and ability to start this year for sure... I don’t think he had teams beating down his door to guarantee him a starting job. Only other team with legit reported interest was Tampa, and he was their plan B to their plan A that they did anyways.

If that is the case and we're not in position to draft a top QB in a better QB draft next year.. The most likely cause is TB and the offense actually had a good to great season and you might not need to draft one...

I just find no logic in letting go of your "Face of the Franchise" QB signing another for 20 mil a year.. Use FA to sign alot of offensive players.. Then draft a QB with your top 10 pick... You could still lose (like is expected) and still be in position to draft a QB we all know will be higher rated then Herbert next year.. Still with Bridgewater making 20 mil on the roster... It doesn't make sense to probably put yourself in that situation...

Then he could have signed a 1 year deal and be free next offseason after a whole season on tape.. Now he is stuck with the Panthers for 3 years if they want him to be..  I'm telling you there is no doubt in my mind he has some assurances that they definitely giving him this year without looking over his shoulder to prove himself..  If he does well and shows he can be a franchise guy you build around that's what they will do.. If not there in position to get a better QB prospect next year. This seem like no difference then Jake Delhome .. TB is just more highly regarded and sought after (so we had to pay more money) then Jake was...

Falcons: Matt Ryan throwing to Calvin Ridley, Julio Jones, Laquan Treadwell, Hayden Hurst

Bucs: Brady throwing to Evans, Godwin, OJ Howard, Cameron Brate

Saints: Brees throwing to Michael Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders, Tre'Quan Smith, Ginn and Jared Cook

To defend this primarily is Donte Jackson, Cole Luke, Shaq, Whitehead, Carter Jr, Boston and Burris.....

........ reasons why we aren't picking a QB in round 1. Later rounds maybe...

The only way I see this happening is if Marty grabs the wheel and forces his hand.

This team is lacking defensive core pieces. 2 DTs, 2 CBs, & a LB. We've added a very competent 27-year old QB familiar with Brady's system, and a younger QB that has a connection with Rhule and Robby.

No way we go QB or WR at 7.

Herbert is another garbage Oregon QB that only has an arm. Crumbles under pressure and would be Josh Allen 2.0. With as many holes that we have on this team, it would be a wasted pick.

I don't think the TB signing causes us not to go after a young QB.  I can see the thinking now, TB allows us to try and win now and also would be a good QB to help groom a young guy.  Also prevents the young guy from having to play as a rookie.

Personally I hope we chase a young QB next year, not his.  Burrow and Tua would both cost way too many resources to get, and I'm not sold on Love and/or Herbert.  Maybe with a trade down, but overall I would prefer just to wait until next year.

Also what happens if TB fits this system perfectly and flourishes, maybe you extend him, at that point you have a wasted a top pick this year on a QB.  Waiting a year just makes sense, you will have a good idea of what TD can do, he is on a three year deal.  You can cut him after two and that still gives the rookie a year to sit.

The irony to all of this is if Cam ends up with the Chargers that increases the chances Herbert is there for us to pick....

Let's see what Brady can really do. Herberts got a good arm, all the measurables, a good head on his shoulders.

Wouldn't be mad.

I would literally be depressed.. That would be another action showing this team is being lead by retards and owned by a idiot...
