That’s not a great mindset to have. I honestly doubt that has EVER crossed CMCs mind. If you think like that, and injury is bound to happen.. just move like water baby

True in regards to the unfinished team, but I'd say that the WR corps is certainly better! And, I'd like to think that the backup QB has to be better, but, yeah, that's unproven!

I get that people are scarred from their years of trauma as Panthers fans, but this is as close to a blank slate as a franchise gets. Talking about losing Super Bowls years ago and not winning back-to-back seasons seems a bit out of touch with the present state of affairs.

Well, any of us who have been Panthers fans have seen a lot. We've seen reinvention after reinvention and plenty of different coaches and approaches. 

Rhule wasn't an exciting hire he was an unknown. So, without much else as far as information, I am going to tend to revert to a "seen this all before" mindset. 

Don't get me wrong, if we start getting results, I will come around for sure(most will). I just can't default to optimistic outlooks with this franchise at the moment. I don't see the things that the sunshine fans do.

As for Rhule's track record in the NFL, he has none. That could be good or bad. Most reasonable folks are taking a wait and see attitude with plenty of time to complain once the season starts.

I think it is hard to pin down how much is Marty and how much isn't anymore. Is he the ultimate yes man with no opinions or input? Is he a glorified advisor to the owner and coach? Is he the man getting advised but ultimately making the decisions? 

I have no idea. I just know what his track record here has been, without all those other variables even being included.

And compared to other GMs across the league it has been fairly good given that most GMs strike out more than they hit homeruns.

To Rhule, season 1 must be the suck. Thus, no such thing as tanking.

I was always that guy who said I don’t believe in tanking. I just don’t think a bunch of grown man will willing lay down and waste a season just to get one player who may or may not be a goood nfl player. The nfl is a business and you can be replaced by the snap of fingers so I just don’t believe happens like that. I am really confused about this team though. These moves while I liked the Robby signing, seem to look all over the place. I’m just a spectator though. We will see what happens

edit to say teams can and do surely “tank” mid season when players get injured and playoff hopes are dashed, but preseason tanking? Nah

it is extremely tough because you can't make it obvious, and u have to sustain it for 17 weeks!  The Dolphins were clearly relieved when Tua Tagavailoa got injured!  Notice their wins came after Tua's injury when his draft stock dropped from 1-2.  lol
