Cam Deserved Better

Sports is pure facts. Cam Newton is good financially for the rest of his life and probably 5 other lives. The Cam Newton that I like seeing  was gone after that Pittsburgh game. His career as a football player was done after that game. Look Cam is good man with his personality his should go into T.V.. and guess what that's where he is going to do greater than football...

My fiancé wanted me to purchase season tickets/PSLs within the next few years. Even though I live in ATL, I was blessed with getting us to Charlotte at ease at any given time, so she wanted her, the baby, and I to be at the games. Wanted my little girl, once she got a few years older, to be able to have a shot at getting a game ball on Sundays. All that’s out the window now. While I’ll always be a fan, due to me being from NC, she’s informed me that she’s no longer a fan. They won’t be getting a dime from me for awhile.

The way they did Cam was wrong. I don’t deal well with liars, disingenuous individuals, or individuals who seem to talk like politicians. Tepper and Rhule fit all 3 of those.

I agree it wasn’t just the decision to move on from Cam that bothers me. They handled it very disingenuously and it’s hard to be a fan of people that openly lie like that. But I will give them the benefit of the doubt until we get all the details. I’m not sure Rhule was lying when he said he wants Cam here. I still feel like something crumbled between the Panthers and Cam the last week and a half.

I'm from Germany and Cam is the reason I started watching football and following the Panthers. This is just sad and I have never seen a icon getting smashed by HIS TEAM in this way in any other sports or club here in Europe. Thats just a shame and I'm so sorry for him. Tragedy, shame on you Panthers.

Imagine if :

1) Cam had even average offensive lines his whole career.   We'd be having a much different discussion right now.    He was the most dominent player in the league at times, you get this guy an offensive line ASAP.

2) Wide receivers that other teams gave their young QBs.    Cam took us to the Super Bowl with  Ginn and Cotchery as his receivers.    Come on.

3) An offensive coordinator (minus Chud years) that used Cam to his strengths better and called players like it wasn't 1993.     Also, a coach that didn't run games like 1985.

4) A fanbase that should have loved Cam instead of having so many Panther fans always routing against him, still whining about his clothes and press conferences even when we were winning.

5) Refs that treated him fairly.

I really hope Cam goes somewhere and dominates with a team that gives him better tools than we ever did.

Nothing. Teddy isn’t replacing cam. He’s a bridge until the future presents itself.

And Teddy will do better in Brady’s system.

Cam will never return to 2015 form.

I believe they handled the cam situation just fine. It’s a business and time to move on. There’s not market for him now.

The previous FO who ignored the oline and let Shula coach cam is where the blame lies. I feel they could have done a much better job helping cam reach his potential.

I can't simply dismiss Teddy as a "bridge" QB when he makes $20M/year.  The ship has sailed on that one.  He needs to produce.

I like Cam and I would have liked to see him get a shot at being our QB.  But he did have some weaknesses.  At times, he held on to the ball way too long.  I felt he was improving on this later, but still had some issue with it.  He lacked touch on short passes and didn't have good ball placement.  His throws often made his receivers have to adjust and stop momentum instead of hitting them in stride.  The last two years, his deep ball throws weren't there.  There are excuses, but they don't win football games.  When he was at his peak, he was a top QB, that was just years ago.  Let's also not forget that he admitted lying about his foot injury last year.  Bridgewater might actually be better in the offense that Rhule wants to run.  We'll just have to see.

Ok. Of course they would say that. It's team PR.  I just watched the whole 2017 over the past few days because someone on this site stated it was one his better seasons. I watched every throw. I never saw Cam throw to a dig route or any other comeback route based on timing. I never saw any definitively timing throw DOWNFIELD, not a wheel route based on timing. He did make some good throws. but not those. And no one who is objective would say otherwise. Heck almost every game announcers were commenting on the reason why his passes sailed was because of his footwork. I am not hating those are just facts.

He didn't have good enough receivers to trust them in timing routes. KB let a DB just have the ball in one of those routes. Cam threw timing routes to CMC and then DJ.

The most sickening and inaccurate things to constantly be said by the fake, non Panther watching media is "Cam's footwork". The dudes footwork especially in the pocket improved vastly.

He could trust Smitty or Teddy Ginn to just throw it out there. I don't blame Cam for not trusting the receivers he had during his tenure. Bill Belicheat will know EXACTLY how to use Cam.

Pittsburgh fans are probably MORE heated at Tepper. It may be 5-10 more years of ars whipping at their expense. The Cam situation should have been controlled. Cam Jordan chirping about potentially landing Cam down there in NO. Sean Payton knows exactly what to do with Cam.

We'd better hope it's New England. It's all good though. It is what it is.

Silly Tepper pigeon holed him into New England like a dummy. More rings, more rings.

......................And got NOTHING for him.

The best fit for Cam Newton to revitalize his career is the XFL. He'd instantly become one of the best and biggest name players in the league. He'd be an above average player for at least the next couple/few years in the XFL and he'd increase the league's profile.
