Can we stop this lazy narrative that Bridgewater can't throw deep just because the NO offense has been adjusting to a fading Brees (who's avg distance was 5.2 compared to Teddy's 4.6). This, along with an OC's tendency to give a back-up QB low risk, high percentage short passing options explains that.

Still think he can't throw? https://vikingsterritory.com/2018/analysis/the-teddy-bridgewater-deep-ball-deep-dive

Still think he just dinks and dunks?

Then you just don't want to be right. :omg:

He averaged like 210 yards per game in his two starting seasons.

I hope PJ out performs Teddy in training camp and becomes elite. He has chemistry with Andersona nd could turn out well.

Me too. Honestly, it's just because we don't know what he might be capable of. We've seen what Teddy is capable of and that's basically being a conservative game manager. We might have the worst defense in the league next year. Conservative game management isn't gonna get it done.

Wtf lol Bridgewater is way better than Allen.

Not saying I'm 100% sold on Bridgewater either.  But come on now.

Agreed Teddy would've won a playoff game if not for blair walsh missing a chip shot kick while kyle allen lost 6 straight. Say what you want about teddy but he doesn't turn the football over.

Less than a half hour after making quarterback Cam Newton's release official, the Panthers took some of the sting out of that decision by reaching a two-year, $20 million deal with Jets free agent wide receiver Robby Anderson. That gives the Panthers four former Temple players for new coach Matt Rhule, who coached Temple from 2013-16. Teaming Anderson with DJ Moore will make for a potent threat for new quarterback Teddy Bridgewater.

TJ Yates once won a playoff game.

The Vikings had Adrian Peterson and an elite defense.  Teddy is a clown.

The title of this thread doesn't do it justice.

Too many folks sleeping on Robby as our WR1. After Amari Cooper, Anderson was the top WR available in FA. Say what you want about a one-trick pony or Teddy not being able to get the ball vertical.... Anderson is the best WR we have had on this team since Smitty. He, DJ & CMC are going to torch some defenses.

I would put DJ ahead of Anderson

Based on turnover rate? Absolutely.

Based on any other passing metric? No, not really.

What?  Bridgewater's worst statistical season in Minnesota is still ahead of Allen's last year, and that was in an archaic offense where his best WR was 31 years old, past his prime Greg Jennings.  And you can't dismiss turnover rate like that is something minor.  There is a reason Jameis Winston is still without a job.

Bridgewater is flat-out a better QB than Kyle Allen.  All you have to do is watch them play.  Bridgewater's pocket presence is better, he's more accurate underneath and intermediate (neither are good at throwing deep), Bridgewater even after a serious knee injury is more mobile.  I mean it isn't even a competition.  There is a reason there was a market for Bridgewater, nobody would have wanted Allen other than a coach who is notorious for hanging onto his guys.

I'm sorry but I do not see how you can have sat and watched the two play and come to the conclusion that they are anywhere on the same level.  Bridgewater is a starter in the NFL.  Maybe he won't turn out to be a good one, but he can start for 1 of 32 teams.  Allen isn't anywhere close to being that.  Not turning the ball over is IMPORTANT for an NFL QB, and that alone puts Bridgewater on another level.
