Ppl don't understand there is more then 1 QB in next years draft.. Its lining up to be 1 of the deepest QB drafts in years..

No matter how the draft looks, its pretty typical that there are no franchise QBs available or only a couple.  The guys that become franchise QBs are the exception, and the key is to find the exception and get him.

Think about this.  Only once in modern football history has all 3 of the first 3 QBs chosen in a draft all went on to become franchise QBs.  And that's using the term "franchise QB" very loosely.  That year was 2004 when Manning, Rivers and Roethlisberger all went on to have successful careers.  Which is to say that of the first 3 QBs taken, at least 1 of them is going to bust and many times its 2 or even all 3 of them.  And the odds of finding a franchise QB start going down quickly after that.

I disagree totally.. That whole mindset seem to be changing with more teams using college systems when drafting a young QB and all these QB camps and 7 on 7 leagues these kids go to.  And recent history has shown teams get franchise QB after the top 5 picks..

2017

Mahomes and Watson were the 10th and 12th pick..

2018 The only complete fail at QB is Rosen.. Mayfield, Donaldson and Allen still have a chance to prove themselves and Jackson (last 1st round QB taken) is a Mvp..

If you have good coaching and a scheme that fits your QB .. It seem to work now..

Can we stop this lazy narrative that Bridgewater can't throw deep just because the NO offense has been adjusting to a fading Brees (who's avg distance was 5.2 compared to Teddy's 4.6). This, along with an OC's tendency to give a back-up QB low risk, high percentage short passing options explains that.

Still think he can't throw? https://vikingsterritory.com/2018/analysis/the-teddy-bridgewater-deep-ball-deep-dive

Still think he just dinks and dunks?

Then you just don't want to be right. :omg:

Again, if somebody is really pushing the idea that Teddy B is a noodle-armed, dink & dunk passer, they don't know nor watch football.

We are setting up for a good 2021-2022 season with only 1 big contract. Thats CMC. We may even get rid of Teddy by year 2 if PJ looks better or if we completely flop this upcoming year we get Lawrence or Fields. So we are covered QB either way we go. The thing is if we start hot we got to be committed to going all the way. This draft we will focus on Defense and Im hoping Okudah or Simmons is there. But we desperately are in need of DT. We may even make some gambles this draft and use the 5th and 2nd to trade up to late 1st or early 2nd if there is a player we must have. Getting 2 first rd talents on defense would be great. We got so much cap space that next year we can add in other pieces via FA and really build a solid team after this year.

This season due to the virus we won't  have much time to teach a new system to the players .  Bringing in those who have played for Rhule before gives us a better chance since they are familiar with his system . Rhule will know their strengths and use that .

Bridgewater doesn't seem to put a lot of air under the ball on his deep passes, so there may be something to he can't throw what we interpret as a "deep ball."

What I do see when looking at tape of him is a QB who goes through his progressions, is extremely accurate on short and intermediate routes, and has pretty good pocket presence.

Let's wait to see what he looks like as a Panther.....

The Jets made a four-year, $40 million offer to Robby Anderson before the wide receiver agreed to sign with the Carolina Panthers on Tuesday, WFAN's Boomer Esiason revealed on the "Boomer and Gio" show.

Sources Esiason spoke with told him about the offer Gang Green had on the table. Anderson instead will sign a two-year, $20 million contract with Carolina, where he'll be reunited with his college head coach, Matt Rhule.

Esiason said he thought the Jets' offer "would've been more than fair for both sides."

"Robby wanted to take less years and wanted to bet on himself and obviously wanted to go play for a coach that he knows, 'cause the coach obviously down in Carolina was his coach at Temple, and he feels comfortable with that offense that they're building around Joe Brady, their offensive coordinator down there," Esiason said at the start of Wednesday's show. "So Robby decided to leave and essentially bet on himself 'cause he wants to be back at the free agent table in two years, and I don't blame him.
