I’ll always be a panthers fan, but I honestly hope he goes to a team we play at home this year and absolutely embarrasses this franchise (preferably in front of a national audience).

Tepper and Rhule deserve to have their noses rubbed in it for the way this was handled.

Most teams will embarrass next seasons Panthers.

They don't but if you come to the podium dressed like that and aren't portraying a Clinton Portis character, then no one is going to take you seriously anymore.

Dude looked like Katherine Hepburn at the beach.

That's a bingo!

If Cam is truly 100% healthy and we are set to release him... oh wee mayne.

Nothing will be more painful for Panthers fans than watching the Panthers flounder mightily while Cam returns to form and shines elsewhere.

Exactly!

The fact they released him while he was healthy is very telling. Something went on behind the scenes that we all don't know about. How does Tepper go from supporting him to doing a complete 360 after hiring Rhule. They made it seem like if Cam was healthy he would be back. Well he's healthy but he's not back...

If Cam returns to dominance this is going to look so bad for the franchise.

I think the likely answer is that the plan was always to move on from Cam no matter what.

I mean, we're talking about the same guy who wanted to fire Mike Tomlin.

This is the correct answer.  Cam was never going to be part of the plan going forward.

Then why didn't they make it known?

They waited till FA to put him on the trade block at the last moment when teams didn't know about his health. I don't understand that plan whatsoever.

I think you have to believe it was.

Puts all the "if healthy" talk in a different light.

They thought they were being coy and were going to create a trade market for him.

In reality, they just showed their amateurism in the ways of the NFL. Make no mistake, other franchises are probably laughing at us right now.

Yeah, they're not off to a good start winning over the locker room on this one. These guys are professionals. If the organization made the decision to move on from Cam and they were forthright about it, most of them would understand and respect that decision even if they didn't want to see it happen. But the way this was handled? How are you trusting anything these guys say if you're in that locker room?

Yeah man . This was handled poorly. He hasn’t coached a panther game as of it but how he answered the questions about Cam and then this, makes me not trusts this staff off the gate

Telling everyone how much you look forward to coaching a player and hopefully winning Super Bowls while you're planning to move on from him is lying. Saying decisions regarding Cam depend on his health status while planning to cut him as soon as he passes a physical is lying.

There's really no gray area on this one. Rhule lied.

I'm not saying it wasn't deceptive. Neither am I defending how the team handled it.

The one thing I would point out is that a lot more people should have seen this coming.

People got their hopes up over intentionally vague statements. It was an avoidable mistake.

Something tells me a lot of people won't make that same mistake again.

Some of your guys love for Cam is so strong. I love him too but come on. You guys act like he doesn't make mistakes. He is not an accurate QB, that's what you need to be a great QB. The truth hurts sometimes.

At least we will finally get to see who was the biggest reason for the worst 2 minute offense in NFL history.

Was is Cam who couldn't handle the 2 min drill?

Ron couldn't coach the 2 minute drill? Even though we had different offensive coordinators.

Or the Panthers just suck in the 2 min drill? With a new coaching staff, I bet our offensive finally looks legit in the 2 min drill.

With all of the bad olines, garbage WRs, old injury prone RBs Cam has been forced to play with during his career here it really is amazing he put up the type of numbers he did while he was here.

Carolina did a piss poor job surrounding Cam with talent during his tenure here. We were always DEFENSE FIRST and force Cam to carry the offense with guys like Mike Shula calling plays with some truly atrocious OTs blocking in front of him. No Quarterback survives 9 seasons with the offensive rosters we put together for Cam.

It truly is a TRAVESTY that the time Carolina FINALLY invests in its offense they ditch Cam for an overglorified game manager in Teddy Bridgewater. What a damn shame.

I mean, for the most part I think the fans will just learn to not listen to anything our coaches and owner says.
