I'd say that's why Newton isn't "his guy".

Tepper was reported to have been skeptical of Newton's ability to stay healthy from the moment he bought the team.

According to Jourdan Rodrigue, both Hurney and Rivera wanted to give Newton an extension but Tepper said no.

And you just know JR would have thrown some type of 90 million dollar deal at him, and patted himself on the back for keeping the family atmosphere alive

I never thought we would get the kind of picks people around here thought, apparently;y the league doesn't think as highly as Cam as half this forum does.

Seriously though I would have thought we would have got something, even a conditional type of pick based on him playing a set amount of games.

Some teams seam to get maximum value from their players and others don't....

a year ago if you had told me we would get a draft pick for Kyle Allen but nothing for Cam I would have called you a typical Huddle lunatic

It just goes to show that the future is an unknown. Maybe Teddy leads us to the promised land. (Or Walker :omg:)

Don't try to anticipate. Live in the mystery.

You have no details on what we were asking for. None of us do. It's easy to blame the front office because it is one of the worst in the NFL.

The FO has plenty of problems but blaming them for something unknown, as you said, is silly.

But if we look at it from a logical perspective, in order to get mad, we’d have to assume the Panthers asked too much for a player in a cast rolling around on wheels, who couldn’t pass a physical. To me, that’s far fetched. It’s also far fetched to assume teams were offering a 3/4th rounder to the Panthers for a player in a cast rolling around and somehow the Panthers said no and they wanted more in for said player in a cast rolling around everywhere. Furthermore, again, very far fetched same said teams who offered a 3/4 when he was rolling around on wheels now won’t even offer a 7th when he is up walking and practicing.

So while we don’t really know, all those things would have to be true to blame the FO and my rational mind just can’t see that. Just makes no sense from any angle, including other teams FO not just the Panthers.

The fact has always remained, there was no market for Cam in his state.

Not a huge surprise the Panthers plan to release quarterback Cam Newton today, as ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. My sources said Newton would be released soon after Teddy Bridgewater signed his three-year, $63-million deal to make it official. Bridgewater signed his deal Monday night, so the Panthers need to clear Newton's $21.1 million from the cap. End of an era.

I might give on the NFL at that point. That would be the culmination of every bad thing I could possibly imagine happening at one time.

I know there are a few people believing (in some cases hoping) Newton goes somewhere, wins it all, destroys the Panthers, etc.

Honestly, I feel like that's a lot less likely than some are thinking.

We might end up finding out Newton's health was actually even worse than we knew.

DeAndre Hopkins being traded for essentially nothing is a far fetched idea. Kyle Allen being traded for a 5th round draft pick is a far fetched idea. Both happened in the past 10 days.

It's not hard to believe that the Panthers overplayed their hand on the trade because that happens quite often in the NFL to a lot of front offices.

I don't care if he wins a Super Bowl, I would actually be rooting for him. Not for the fuging Pats, though. I hate them 100x more than my second most hated team, the Saints. I hate the Pats more than any other team in any other sport. I have been around those horrible fans too much and I absolutely loathe their team, their coach, their players, etc.
