Breaking: Cam Newton being released today.

Sad day but the tear down is in full effect. Honestly I’m much more interested in what we will do with CMC at this point. He is the last person we have that’s a major move and what we decide to do with him and his contract will tell us a lot. They should do the right thing and extend him or trade him based off what he has already done. It will be dirty to make him play his 4th year on rookie wages with the performance he has had.

Chargers chose Tyrod Taylor over Cam.  Kinda says it all, doesn't it? The chasm between what his perceived value ended up being and what a bunch of huddlers thought it was (1st or multiple 2nds/3rds) couldn't have been larger.

Patriots are probably trying to tank for Trevor Lawrence. I think the Chargers might sign him at this point.

The Patriots dont tank.

they went 11–5 with Matt Cassel.

they will go 11-5 with Jarrett Stidham while we stick our thumbs up our asses

Same.

Just doesn't seem like he's Tepper's guy.

I think it's more that he is betting Newton is not going to stay healthy and is moving on when it suits him.  I'm sure he would love to still have the 2015 version as we all would, but that Newton no longer exists.

If they were going to get anything for Newton it would have been before Free agency

and wouldn't have been the 1st or 2nd round pick people had hopes for

The Panthers had no intentions of trading him

They wanted to look good by saying they are allowing him to seek a trade. But if you couldnt see this  release coming i dont know what to say

I think they might have been able to get a 3rd/4th round pick or something. My guess is that they asked for too much and then promptly nuked their entire market by signing Bridgewater.

Typical Panthers FO, bungling an opportunity.

There have been multiple reports saying he was in fact shopped around before free agency year. And it’s extremely hard to think a team would offer a 2nd for him then, when he was still in a damn leg cast rolling around on wheels but now won’t even offer a 7th for him.

I know you guys are trying to find a way to blame the FO for what has happened but seriously, let’s get back to reality. There was no market for Cam in his current state, period.

Sad way to end the best 9 years of our franchise. Never have there been so much joy around the Panthers.

We seem to be doing a fantastic job of pissing of our stars. Now just look and wait to see Cam win with another team while our very own Jerry Jones fug this poo up.

I just can't see BB tanking for a season, especially with all the 'time to prove himself without Tom' talk. Knowing the Pats they'll draft Jordan Love late in the first and he'll end up being the next Elway

BB has literally nothing to prove. Nothing. He could retire now and universally be considered the greatest head coach ever.

Tanking for Trevor while the Chiefs rule the AFC is a solid move for them.
