We also happen to know that we aren't going to be more successful than most of those teams. That's another part of being a Panthers fan, unfortunately.

To be clear though, I'm not expecting the Panthers to be winning a lot of games anytime soon. So if Newton goes to even a halfway decent team, he's got a pretty good shot at outshining us.

No. They are extremely happy that we released the most recent face of the franchise, and now CMC (the coveted white RB) can sit on the throne.

 

Hopefully they trade CMC too. This team is garbage right now, and so are a lot of its fans.

The biggest problem with the team for years was loyalty.  Everyone criticizes Hurney and claims he hasn't changed, but I do think he has in that regard - he's been FAR better at moving on from players he otherwise would have been loyal to in the past.  Remember that huge extension to Jake Delhomme for utterly no reason?

Unless it isn't Hurney calling the shots anymore, which is what I'm inclined to believe.  This is all Rhule and it is 100% understandable that Rhule wouldn't want to commit another season to a QB who has lost his last 11 starts and hasn't been able to stay healthy.  

Again, speculating. We don't know and yes, the team owed it to him to at least see if he's healthy. Regardless of regime. Worst comes to worst, we land another high pick but at least SOMETHING could have been garnered by the "wait and see" approach. Especially if this team is in no condition to actually compete this year. All this hoopla over a mediocre game manager is crazy to me. I'd have felt better if we went after Foles or another QB that can actually push the ball field. 

 

I've said it before, winning heals all, but until then I'll remain skeptical.

I can't help but wonder how much Cam's original video pissed Tepper off and hurt Cam's chances of staying here.  

If I'm Tepper, seeing the leader of my team come out with a video stating he lied to trainers, doctors, coaches and especially me about his health, would really break any trust between us. 

Dont get me wrong, I understand why Cam played, but if you're asking me to invest 80 to 100m, having lied is not going sit well when it comes time to write that check. 

Add in the Covid situation and it was really over before FA started.
