I really don’t see Cam going to the Pats. All the stories from former players about how militant Bill is would definitely not mix well with Cam.

Agreed.  Though Cam can at least consider those fourteen DNP game checks he cashed last year as severance, which is more than most can say right now.

I mentioned this so many times in my “tank” plans. I thought it was interesting that Cam only fans were so surprised that people wanted to not give Cam a chance when he said he’d play under the one year deal. I kept saying that he said that to play nice as did Rhule talking nicely about Cam. They were negotiating but I didn’t think that there was any way that Cam would play on a one year deal behind a rebuilding line on a rebuilding team and I didn’t think there was any way that our team having watched Cam miss parts of 3 of the last 4 years would agree to a long term deal. It’s too bad it ended so poorly but even Cam only fans had to have seen the divide, but not surprisingly we get this type of fallout. I just think Cam’s video team has got to be smart enough to think that unemployed joke was in poor taste. I’ve been trying to pickup food and leave good tips because damn the restaurants have to be hurting and the rest of the staffs that aren’t on the skeleton crews can’t be doing well.

Plenty have gone elsewhere and had a resurgence. Cam was always wasted on the Panthers anyway.

had he gone to the Chiefs and played for Andy Reid or someone similar... he would be the face of the NFL right now and people would probably say Patrick who?

everything is so dependent on where a player goes. Brett Favre was wasted in Atlanta and Mike Holmgren snatched him up,.. boom.

Dan Marino is probably the best example Ever ever of wasted. Dan was probably the greatest quarterback ever but no one could overcome what the Dolphins had become. Still, he did fight them to one Super Bowl appearance.

Hopefully Cam gets a chance to go to a team with a real coach this time

I'd assume Newton's video team are young and with little sense of anything other than the technology and content generation. Probably need someone with a bit more perspective for things.

We will see.  We are in the middle of a meltdown so there was no way to get him officially checkout out. If he’s still a month or 2 away from rehab clearance, no team would have made a trade or been able to complete one.

then signing a stooge like Teddy for $33 million guaranteed and $60 million altogether announced the intentions— why would anyone make the trade then?
