The good news is we got a very high fifth for an UDFA after two seasons.  I consider that a great move for us, almost New England-esque in handling backup QBs.

The bad news is who will be making that very high fifth round pick.

I feel like this was a win-win for both the Redskins and the Panthers. The Panthers got a much needed draft choice and Kyle Allen wlll go to a team that will not be afraid to keep him as a backup or starter if need be.

Hate to pile on Ron, but it fits the safe/conservative nature of him. 

Hiring Shula as the OC was the first sign he couldnt think outside the box. 

 

I like Kyle as a QB, but it reeks of Ron. Kyle probably had a better shot under Joe Brady.

Kyle Allen's 2019 season started off impressively as he won his 1st 4 starts and did not throw an interception. Things changed from Week 7 on as he posted the worst TD-Int ratio in that span. Per

BTW, to sign an undrafted free agent in Kyle Allen and get him to go from a backup to getting a fifth-round pick in return is a great return for the Panthers and Marty Hurney

And another potential suitor for Cam off the list. At this point the Chargers seem like his last chance at a starting gig. Not even sure why the Panthers haven't cut him yet.

Remember when I said it was a no-brainer to tender Kyle Allen an ERFA deal? This is why. Turning Allen, who I was under the impression was not going to be a part of the Panthers future anyway, into a fifth-round pick is a nice job by Hurney.
