It’s a solid signing for one year for fuging 2 million dollars, all around there isn’t a bad thing about it , the people bitching will continue to do so no matter what it’s stupid. Pick your battle this isn’t it...by a long shot

I'm not familiar with Whitehead.  Is he a true MLB?  An article I read from last year with the Raiders indicated his struggles might have been due to him being moved from outside to the middle?  He has obviously spent time in both positions now.

His issues are what they are at this point, and are not directly related to being inside or outside.  But for the experience and price, its perfectly worth signing him.

Panthers signed LB Tahir Whitehead to a one-year, $2.5 million contract.

The deal includes a $1.45 million signing bonus. Whitehead has started 87 games for the Lions and Raiders since 2012. He's racked up at least 100 tackles in each of the last four seasons, but graded out as one of PFF's worst coverage LBs in 2019. Still, the Panthers' league-worst run defense can use all the help they can get.

Hurney's first solid budget signing. This is good, LB was looking awfully thin

FWIW, Person was on WFNZ saying that Whitehead makes sense at MLB and kicking Shaq back outside. Whitehead is good against the run and Rhule/Snow's defense's utilize their LBs a lot funneling runs to them. 

I'm not a huge Joe Person guy, but Whitehead in the middle with Shaq and hopefully Simmons flanking Whitehead would be a balanced linebacking corps.
