Panthers sign QB Walker.

also lol at people comparing this to Delhomme/Kurt Warner

I mean, I want to see what Walker's got and all. But don't forget how many Dameyune Craigs out there shined in other leagues and just didn't get the chance/have what it took in the NFL.

Craig still holds the record for passing yards in an NFL sanctioned event btw. And he has a jersey in the HOF for it.

Panthers signed QB P.J. Walker, formerly of the XFL's Houston Roughnecks, to a two-year contract.

Walker is reunited with his college coach Matt Rhule. Through five weeks Walker led the XFL in both passing yards (1,338) and touchdowns (15). He also racked up another 99 yards and a score on the ground. These counting stats alone didn't do Walker justice, as his rate of 0.38 broken tackles per touch was the third-highest mark among 52 players with at least 10 combined carries and receptions. Walker balled out *in style* for the duration of the XFL season and earned this NFL opportunity. He'll battle with Kyle Allen to serve as Teddy Bridgewater's backup.

I guess why not at this point?

All this tells me is we are just abysmal at drafting quarterbacks outside 2011.

Still waiting to hear from all those Panthers fans that were clamoring for us to draft Will Grier "just to be sure".

There's one thing neither a scout or combine can accurately judge. Heart. Sounds like this guy has plenty of it. Good for him.

The NFL is dumb if they dont team up with the XFL, a league that needs a spring season and NFL season leagues.. Spring for development and NFL season to get guys that are in game shape.
