Throws a really nice deep ball which seems to be hard to find these days

Yep and from what I saw in the XFL highlights I found he has good pocket movement, presence and mobility. Not sure about his accuracy, consistency and decision making, but those can be taught. Arm strength and mobility cannot. I don’t expect this guy to ever start for us but I think it’s a great flyer to take a chance on and will be rooting for him.

At the end of TRUE GRIT, one of my favorite movies, they whip a horse to death, forcing him to run too hard for too long.   The horse falls over dead.

That is what RR did to Cam--and many of the people bitching now were those cheering when they had him running the option and QB draws, etc.  I questioned the decisions, and was called a hater.  Now I say he has been beaten into the ground more than any other QB in the NFL.  Hater again.  So while I agree, I do not understand people sometimes--but I do not go to NFL discussion boards to analyze people.  I go to hear ideas about the team, get some opinions, etc. so I can better understand how fans might react.

The lack of building a top oline did cam in

Thought that might happen.

Wonder if that means anything to Newton, or Kyle Allen for that matter.

Wouldn't bet on it but it's possible.

We could also be moving on from Grier who isn't great at timing passes. Something our current selection of QBs are not good at expect Bridgewater.

For those of you who suddenly know enough to declare this a bad move--after an exhaustive google research project---

QB is a fickle thing.  I think, if I am not mistaken, that the second best QB in this franchise history was a backup in NFL Europe.  I am fairly certain that there is a NFLEurope QB wearing a gold jacket. Image result for warner delhomme nfl europe

Kurt Warner another one.

I think the biggest disservice to Cam was getting rid of Chud. When Cam was drafted, Newton and the coaching staff took those "Passing QB" narratives as a challenge and Cam went out throw all over the place. Behind center, shotgun, two TE with Shockey and Olsen. Cam was gunslinging. He made mistakes but he was gunslinging. And when Chud left Ron took the quickest route to success to save his job. Since then we were all RPO, screens and play action passing. It worked because Newton was a freak of nature. We were getting somewhere with Norv Turner though and I think unfortunately it was just poor timing with Cam's injuries.

Agreed. I absolutely loved Child’s use of TEs and cam. In fact after bad scheming and shitty oline the biggest disservice they did was to take away that dual TE threat. Cam thrives in the shotgun with that set up. I can’t understand why they took that away.
