What numbers does Bridgewater have to produce for us not to draft a QB next year??

If your QB puts up Mahomes numbers, you're winning a lot of games. QBs don't put up MVP type numbers on bad teams.

You're wrong.. It has happened before stop and do some research..

Matt Ryan put up 35 tds and 7 ints on a 7-9 team in 2018..

Brees 32td 11ints and 37tds and 15 ints for 2 7-9 teams 2015, 2016..

It can happened do you need more examples??

7-9 would have you drafting somewhere between 11th and 16th this year. Which franchise QB prospect would you be looking at?

And those above stats are a lot different than the stats you previously proposed.

So if this dude puts up 45 td 8ints 5,000 yards and completes 68% of his passes.. You're still going to draft a QB next year??

That's dumb as fug!!

Seems to be some significant goalpost moving going on here. I don't get why people start a thread to start a conversation then get fighting mad at anyone who doesn't agree with their ridiculous concept such as Teddy Bridgewater putting up Mahomes numbers. LOL!

No matter what QB is coming out in my opinion.. If he is putting up great numbers and only 27 years old.. Why would you go for a question mark?? When this guy has already came in a proven he's good??

If TB is up to the task, you may be looking at drafting the #2 (obviously not in the first round).  You might take a chance on somebody you think could be his heir apparent, or play the Pats game where you draft his #2 and after a couple of years trade that guy for something else because when he has played, he looked good.  TB's age gives us that flexibility if he can produce.

Now, given what our roster looks like today, do I think they would draft a QB if TB is lighting it up?  Even with a good draft, I see too many holes for one offseason to plug.  So if TB establishes himself, I think it could well be 2022 before we look for anybody, heir apparent, backup, or clip board holder.

Incidentally, your comment regarding the possibility that the offense could be productive but the wins and losses might not reflect that because the defense always finds a way to allow the opposing offense to be more productive is a definite possibility.

Cam also was a #1 draft pick the year prior and at the time just put up the best statistical season for a rookie QB in NFL history...they are not the same. Teddy is a 27 year old JAG at best at this point in his career. We don't even know if HE can play a full season on that bad knee yet.

Reread what I said. Where in the draft would we be picking with a 6-10 record next season? More than likely 8 or lower. Even if Teddy has a good season if we are picking top 3 we will not pass on a Qb.

Not if he is putting up franchise QB numbers like 30+ td lower teen's TO and 4,000 passing yards.. That top 5 pick becomes a asset you can use to get more assets..

It happens more than people might think.  There are a lot more ways to lose games than there are to win them.  A couple of defensive or special teams breakdowns can undo a lot of good work by the offense.....or the defense for that matter.

Exactly that's why they call it the ultimate team sport...

id say making the playoffs would go further than any numbers

That's not the question.. That's why W-L record isn't a consideration... If that happens their not in position to get a franchise QB.. Please follow directions..
