No because some of those underperforming/ overpaid player got you those 5 wins..

Example..

Without  Vernon Butler you don't beat the Bucs in London..

Without Mario Addison and Gerald McCoy you don't beat the Jags..

That's 2 wins right there where players who aren't here now made impactful game winning plays...

First of all, Butler and winning should never be used together in a sentence. But on a serious note, mentioning anyone off a DL that got gashed by the run all season as a gamechanger is laughable.

Then you don't live in reality.. Or you didn't watch all the football games last year... And you definitely shouldn't make blind statements like "we won 5 games with a undrafted QB we should be able to double that" .. Without giving credit to the other player for those 5 wins.. Even the ones not here anymore..  Add context at some point to your post.. You're making a false equivalent with no facts.. And basing your optimism on it...lol

Say what you want Butler 3 sacks stop Jameis in the red zone twice... Saving and winning that game..

Let's put this on paper so some ppl here can actually see what they think is going to happen..

Just the defense version..

Kk (30+ coming off a major injury), Brown (rookie), and ?, ? ..  are going to fix the run defense..

Burns, Weatherly, Obada, Jones, Miller, Hayes will generate close to the pass rush last year..and improve the run defense...

Donte, 2nd round rookie, ?,?,?.. Will be the pass coverage that is "decent" against Julio. Ridely- Evan's, Goodwin and Thomas...

Shaq, 3rd round rookie, ?,,,?.. Will be able to come close to a all pro Hofer hole in the middle of the defense...

Boston, Burris,?,?... Will click day one learning a new scheme with new coaching...

All this needs to happen to be decent....

Lmao..

That defense couldn't get any worse, the scheme was new/predictable and the effort on the field was pathetic. Even Luke was awful last year, at least he knew it. Hell who knows what we have sitting on the bench, they never had the chance to show it.

I was at the Jacksonville game and I watch every game. Otherwise I wouldn't even bother with this place, its fuging dreadful. You're dreaming poo up to validate your agenda. If all these guys you mentioned were so great, then why did we suck? Right, that's why they're gone. Doesn't take a genius to figure that out, but you'd rather overpay for mediocrity and keep blaming everyone else. If you think keeping names around because they once made a play, but consistently underperform... your clueless.

Teddy Bridgewater has tools.  Let's see what Rhule can get out of him.  You'll be amazed to see what happens when you can actually hit a receiver in stride, especially with the receivers we have.

Let's maintain our low expectations as we should, and hopefully we are pleasantly surprised.

But our defense is even WORSE than it was last year. All we have done is lost great players

With the exception of Luke, we haven't lost any Great players from our defense. We've lost a couple of decent ones and a whole bunch of folks ate up big paychecks, padded their stats and generally had a big old time while about three players did all the heavy lifting.

Losing Luke hurts, because he was rightly legendary. He, however, wasn't even enough to shore up how bad our defense was last season. Had we even been able to slow down the run, we might have won three more games last season, perhaps more.

No matter how much shuffling there is this season, we can improve on defense. Had we retained those big names we've let go, though, it could only get even worse.

I actually think TB will be the least of our issues and he isn't trash. We will be running short and quick routes...this offense will move the chains it's our defense that is practically non existent and may as well be wet tissue paper.

We do have weapons on offense I just have no idear where they think any pressure, coverage, or tackling is going to come from.
