Not true, but if it was, all things considered, that would be a great deal for us.  The alternative right now is cutting him.

All the insiders are saying the Dolphins are going to use the #5 pick on a QB -- Justin or Tua depending on the source.

The only clear path left to a starting job in 2020 in the Patriots and he'd probably have to accept backup money to play there --- and doing so would be a good long-term decision!

Odds of Cam making an opening day roster are shrinking by the day.

Cam could/would start over Haskins.  Especially with Rivera there.

Realistically, that's also the best thing for Newton.

The longer we hang on to him, the more chance there is that the available starting jobs get filled by someone else.

LMAO Theirs a thing in the nfl called optics, and NFL team in today’s league would never pay a starting QB that little.

Why you think washed up Brady and Rivers both got 30 and 25 mill.

They also played a full season. I figure for optics it will be a 2 year deal for 30 million with 10-15 guaranteed which is essentially a one year deal unless he balls out and then they have him locked up for another year. But I doubt it will be for starter money.

Try 20+ mill

backups gets 10 mill, and Cam isn’t backing up anyone. Teams know the optics of having your starting QB being the highest paid player in the locker room

If he is lucky yeah. If they were going to.pay 21 million they would offer a 7th rounder for him. No one has. They are waiting for his release so they can pay him less.  He is damaged goods and 2 years away from.playing meaningful football.

How do you know who has offered what?

Apples to oranges.

Being a coordinator and HC are two completely different roles.

Just because someone is a good coordinator, doesnt mean they will be a good HC.

I do not know enough about Snow to make any conclusions.

I know Brady has studied under one of the best play callers in the NFL and went and completely turn around (putting it midly) an LSU offense and QB.

He could suck, but as of now, I have plenty of reasons to be super excited.

When Ron promoted Shula, I wanted to jump off a bridge.

Based on what's known, I believe Brady will be a good OC. I'm not prepared to anoint him as the next super genius of the NFL like some have been (we've had people guaranteeing he'll be a head coach after one season) but I hope he's good.

It is my habit, however, to point out that assumptions can go very, very wrong. Hence, why I prefer to be measured rather than gush.

If Brady has a top 10 offense next season, I wouldn't be shocked if a NFL team doesn't snap him up.

Maybe. I'm not about to guarantee it though.

About the only thing I'm fairly confident of right now is that we're going to lose a lot of games next year.
