From what's been said, it sounds like he'd wanted an extension for a while (what NFL player doesn't) but ultimately realized the team wasn't going to give him one. Thus, he was willing to play out the final year of his deal (taking on a huge risk, but essentially betting on himself) and expected the team would also be on board with it.

Turns out they weren't.

I just dont see that. Otherwise how was he "forced" into looking for a trade?

Uh, never said that before except in this thread. I also don’t use political wording such as boomer or snowflake unless I’m being facetious to someone else who uses it . I find most the time people that do are brainless. Nice accuracy.

I don’t have a difficult background, at least in my opinion . But I wasn’t pampered to the point the specific wording used on a tweet that was just tweeted at the exact wrong time sends me off the rails.
 

In fact sometimes I’ll read something and shrug and see butthurts get so tender about it and go back and re read it thinking I missed something.

Because they signed Teddy Bridgewater.

It wasn't just that they weren't extending him. They weren't keeping him at all.

Because they told him they were going with Bridgewater as the starter over him.

That, plus they publicly tweeted out that he was "given permission" to seek a trade.

Whether that was "forcing" him is a matter of opinion, but that's how he saw it. Hence, the angry reaction.

I would have like to have seen Cam given one more year.

The team actually did Cam a favor.  The best way that Cam can rebuild his stock is to go to a competitor that has adequate protection. If Cam played here one more year, and he got hurt again his career would be over.

Cam is a little overpaid rn, 19 mil for a qb that has been injured and went 0-8 is last 8 games is a bit steep. They probably asked him to restructure or take a cut.  A fair Cam extension in my mind is a 2 year 30million dollar deal. Obviously Cam wouldnt like that. Itll be interesting to see what he fetches in the open market.

If he signs for the discount you structure it so you can be out next year if he can't hack a season of football. At the same time you give him a new deal for 2021 and beyond if he has a season that justifies it. Go from there. Wish that could have happened.

it was the 2016 opener in Denver when the man got his head bashed in multiple times and his coach stood there with arms folded 

even with all of that, cam marches the team down the field and gano does what Gano does and missed he field goal.  The whole season changed in that opening game 

we can debate cam as the day is long.  I will tell everyone I loved him. I hate Tepper for how he handled it and at this moment, and after 22 years of pro football, I could care less what this team does
