The team's side of the story (per Kyle Bailey)

Let’s get real here

there are ways to treat someone. They treated  Colin Jones, a special teams player,  better than Newton, the guy who took them to the Super Bowl with Philly Brown and made this damned team relevant

they had no intention of keeping him so tell him that man to man.  To his face. In December.   January    In February, you know when he is in the facility rehabbing

I have absolutely no respect for this chicken poo

I know, sorry if it seemed like that. I applaud your effort to bring interesting topics and information to this forum.

My take is the Panthers had plenty of time to get the wording straight and they bungled it. So far, not impressed with how the organization handles things in this rebuild.

I don't think they put as much effort into getting it right as they should have. Reaching out to Bailey is clearly an effort to do damage control. Don't know if it's gonna work.

Not knowing when something's gonna be a big deal isn't a good sign.

At G we just got the guy from Cincy, and one of the young guys can slide in and play the other G....C is a BIG weakness and could wreck our entire OL...I wouldn’t be surprised if we picked the G/C from LSU in round 2

our defense is gonna be worse than horrible...historically bad

Yep, forgot about the guard we signed. Well, next year we may be starting all over again. Moton, new guy from Cincy and Okung all are on one year deals and based on his play we could be cutting Paradis. Little and Daley need to step up or we will be paying big $$$ to not need 5 new starters in 2021. Now I know why I want comp picks. We’ll need them to pick up as many Gs as possible and hope some stick and Little and Daley can man a tackle spot (LT since I hope we resign Moton).

This is a case where the team probably should have given a closer look before it was published.

And if you really were giving Newton and his agent control of the situation, maybe you'd get them in the loop on public statements and their timing?

The same source as everything else in the OP: Kyle Bailey's conversation with someone from the Panthers.

So the team wants to share their side of the story and also tells Kyle that there is a division between Marty and the rest of the team in regards to the direction of the team? Makes no sense.

Well, remember Jourdan Rodrigue said it was possible the team didn't care about tanking Newton's trade market once they got Bridgewater.

Maybe they just didn't care enough to be careful.

Sometimes it doesn't seem like they understand that they are in the entertainment business. If you want to stick a knife in the back of your former franchise QB, by all means, do so. Just do it in the back alley, like the professionals in Hollywood ;) Not out in the open like a bunch of clown-shoes rubes.

It's part of his conversation with whomever. Likely wasn't related to the main story.

Bailey mentioned it at the end of the discussion about Newton.

If you are butt hurt you can get over it , but if you piss off the boss you will be fired .  It is better to shut up and do your job or just move on without burning the bridge .  If there is no team wanting you just take what you can .  It is not like they did not make you rich already .

Bailey's guest (Adam Lefkoe from Bleacher Report) made a good point about that.

The post itself wasn't likely reviewed or examined by team ownership. It was written by someone from the social media team and posted as is.

This is a case where the team probably should have given a closer look before it was published.

There is zero chance some social media guy posted that trade thing without it coming from someone very, very high up, and verbatim what they said. If it was misinterpreted or not supposed to go out or anything, that’s a resume generating monumental fug up.

You don't believe the Panthers are capable of a resumé generating monumental f--k up at this point?

I sure do.

I believe team ownership and management are certainly. I don’t believe the young, social media savvy person running the official team accounts is stupid enough to post something as huge as that without permission or encouragement from team brass. No way.

The social media posts saying all that poo with Cam and the trade were written verbatim how someone important told them to write it. Either Rhule or Hurney or Tepper himself.

Stranger things have happened. No one thought we had rebuilt very much at the beginning of 2003, but they caught lightning in a bottle. 2015 looked like a wash after Benjamin blew his knee out in training camp and we had no offensive line to speak of.

It could happen.

Give me some of whatever you are partaking my brother.  I would love to see that happen in my world.

That most likely would fall on Steven Drummond.

Did Drummond review it? Unknown.

if he didn't, that'd be a pretty sure sign that the team really just didn't give a sh-t.

If he did, I'm not sure whether that's better or worse.
