Best case scenario right now?? Draft addition..

WOW!!

Jmo of course.. How I'm looking at the roster now trying to figure out what direction this is headed.. Using some of the football logic I have.. The best 1st round pick for us now is Okulad.. If this was to happen and he drops to us .. Run the card up there and don't look back...

Getting a shutdown CB on this team is maybe the 1a or 1b need now... It puts some stability in a high value position group.. We still have a sub par roster but it gives you a foundation piece on the 3rd level on the defense which we don't have...

It's also easier in this draft to get DT in the 2nd round and LB later in the draft which are also a need  at this point.. (DT probably 1a or 1B as well).. I'd actually double dip DT with a 2nd round and 5th round pick... LB being a lowered value position in today NFL is a get later position like OG now...

Jmo..

Cincinnati - Burrow

Washington - Young

Detroit - Simmons

New York - Offensive Tackle

Miami - Tagovailoa

LAC - Herbert

It really all depends on Detroit. Gettleman is obsessed with hog mollies. Miami gets their QB they’ve been waiting for. LAC isn’t going to rely on Tyrod Taylor. This leaves us with Okudah at the pick. This is probably our best outcome actually.

I think we should trade up for Tua. Have him sit a year behind Teddy. Don’t even consider playing him this year for any reason. Allen backup, Tua redshirt. Get some of the picks we give up back by trading guys on the roster not in long term plans, KK, maybe Samuel, etc.

Without a strong DT I think Simmons gets wasted here. Right now we have to go Brown, if he’s gone Okudah, if both gone Tua. If Tua and them are gone maybe a OT. We might be looking at Kinlaw potential at 7 after all.

Lions most likely draft him now by losing Slay

The Lions are the most likely imo to take him.. But if he gets by them I think he is ours... Maybe they trade down and a team jumps up for Tua or herbert to screw the dolphins and Chargers.. But I also see a scenario where the Charges jump up and Detroit still gets Okudah at 6... But still IMo Okudah is my best case scenario for us because it sets up the rest of the draft perfectly...

I love Tua's talent but you are replacing one oft injured QB, with a veteran QB who had injury concerns coming into the NFL and had a very serious injury and then drafting a young QB with injury concerns that is coming off a very serious injury.

That just seems like gambling just to gamble.

Detroit will decide whether we take Simmons or Okudah. Both great options

Love Simmons but he is my 3rd best case scenario behind Okudah and Brown.. Because LB in today's NFL is a lesser value position to CB and DT.. And we need starters in both position or players competing to start day 1.. If we go LB 1st then were scrambling to fill 2 higher valued positions the rest of the draft which pushes other needs like WR, OG and TE down the list.. ImO with this WR deep draft we need to take advantage and get either 2nd, 3rd or 4th round guy that has a reasonable chance to compete for playing time year 1... Going LB 1st makes that hard... But the talent is justified not to pass up on...
