REPORT: Panthers were interested in CB Trae Waynes

At 3 years, $42 million, I'm glad we didn't sign him. Would have much rather had Bradberry for $3 million more. As fas as Rhodes is concerned, he rated out as the worst cornerback in the NFL last year. He had a good year or two but his play took a nosedive. We need to stay away. Why haven't we resigned Cockrell? He's gotta come at a pretty low rate and at worst would be good depth. We have no one other than Jackson.

Yep I would like him but he will ask for to much

Consider Trae Waynes to the Bengals a bullet dodged.  After 2-3 years became very good in coverage but 4-6 plays would break your back with giving up a monster play or even more likely a holding or PI penalty, all at the worst possible times, that would literally affect the outcome of a game.

Xavier Rhodes has reputation and might seem good from a distance but he's another to be avoided.  From 2015-2017 was truly one of the best CBs in the NFL.  In his younger days was one of the few CBs who could shut down Calvin Johnson.  But the last two years has become a detriment as his skills have steadily eroded since the NFC title game loss to the Eagles in 2017.  By this past season he was incredibly inconsistent to the point of being downright awful for more than half the games.  If not for the contract situation the Vikings would've released him a year ago.
