JOHN MILLERG, CAROLINA PANTHERS

Panthers signed OG John Miller, formerly of the Bengals, to a one-year, $4 million contract.

Miller was just released by the Bengals earlier in the day Wednesday. The 26-year-old started all 13 games he appeared in last season and has made 60 starts across five seasons. Miller is merely a replacement-level guard, but he could be an option to replace since-traded RG Trai Turner in Carolina.

The Panthers needed guard help after trading Pro Bowl guard Trai Turner to the Chargers and making a run at left guard Greg Van Roten before free agency began. They got that in John Miller, released today by the Bengals.

Another tidbit. Teddy Bridgewater player at Miami Northwestern. John Miller player at Miami Central. That’s the best high school football rivalry in the state of Florida. Both of them played at Louisville together as well.

LOVE this signing. Miller is a big NASTY run blocker. Hes a good athlete and an old school bruiser. 

As soon  as I saw the name cut he was one I hoped we look at. Could be a good player for us.

Can still get sloppy with technique sometimes but that's what you get for 4 mil.
