So before when players felt coddled happy, were gettin fat checks and had great job security and every pffseason we saw the same old same old and were going 5-11 you guys were happy got it

cam is just a player and so is Luke, have to make changes and evolve the Panthers have been garbage for years now

may not work out but it’s better than making everyone happy family bullshit

Started that turn to garbage when it was sold, JR never spent the $ we thought he should or paid free agents we thought he should, but this team was total garbage very few times mediocrity isn't garbage, it's keeping your head above water until you can strike again.

Teppers intention was remaking the whole thing in HIS image, not that of the city or region. Bull in a China shop. Certain fans wanted college/JV football and the NFL never really wanted the Panthers to win a ring.

Lose, lose.

As soon as seats are empty THIS owner will threaten to move this team. Wait for it.

And yet, Luke leaves with a retirement statement and no bad words for the organization, teammates, past or future of the team. I think it speaks to two different cultures in the locker room. One culture is being moved out, the other (and apparently smaller group) is being retained for the future.

And I imagine they'd have given anything to have kept Luke here. I would have, too.

Luke had too much class to play for this college team. Nobody wants to play JV

yeah, getting rid of players that could go straight to the owner to whine about extensions - and seeing those players whine more - is exactly why those whiny players need to be gone, and that kind of culture needs to die here.     the type of bs that went on with JR, marty, ron, and the players needs to be a thing of the past and the players who can't adapt are getting jettisoned.  its the right thing to do.

Yea I will say everyone used to always criticize how loyal we were to aging players.  Now we aren’t and it’s suddenly a bad thing lol

Luke had too many concussions and decided to protect the life ahead of him. We will see him coaching from the Panthers sideline within two years.

That's my hope. Don't know if ownership has scared away former players yet. That Gettleman cut throat, disinformation, lack of respect thing doesn't fly with fans regionally. Yes, the NFL is a business but life/business without honor or respect is bad for business in the long run.

The QB switch was spiteful. All due respect to TB but it's another previously injured QB. People then say Brady this New Orleans that. This staff doesn't understand that we don't like ANYTHING about that organization, morally. They are vile and classless.

Character doesn't come from winning. It's already there before that.

If you have been in management, you are familiar with the disgruntled employee.  You try to separate on good terms, but there are times it blows up.  The fired employee has the voice---the employer has to remain silent.

remember that as you read the rants from 30-year olds who are facing rejection for the first times in their lives.  They do not know how to handle it.  Not to say this defines this situation, but it probably does to some degree.

right but the Panthers 1000% could have handled this better it was their decision to play up cam was staying, it was their decision to not give him a proper sendoff.

Jourdan Rodrigue speculated that perhaps the Panthers knew they weren't getting anything for Cam, so they had no problem with releasing a statement that would basically tank his trade market, thus meaning it would make sense to just release him.

I think that's a stretch.

It's more likely they just bungled this.

I mean I think they've known for awhile they weren't getting anything for him otherwise they would have traded him. i think him not being able to pass a physical due to this covid 19 means they REALLY can't get a team to trade for him.

At that point stop. Reset. get your good ass social media team to release a video, prepare a statement from the owner, rhule everyone. roll out the fuging red carpet. state how this is an incredibly hard decision and Cam has given this organization so much.

instead they posted a fuging picture, they've know for MONTHS this was likely

Posting a "thank you" tweet after Newton's public clapback was incredibly awkward.
