The player outbursts you're seeing now

Recommended Posts

Are what they've been doing behind the scenes when JR was here.

Gettleman gets fired 2 seasons removed from a SB appearance days after the draft why? Because it was time to give Shaq TD's role and Greg Olsen was getting old. JR axed him when he tried to disband 1/4 of the family.

Fast forward to 2020... Olsen ADMITS on Twitter the Panthers would not give him a deal he wants and the Panthers post they mutually decided to part ways after Olsen declined their offer. Olsen goes on twitter and says they lied when days earlier he said they couldn't come to an agreement.

TD gets his face in the mix. He pulls a 180 on us WEEK SEVENTEEN and decides to return and wonders why we don't want to re-sign an aging LB when Shaq has been waiting to even get out of the rotation.

Cam has been hurt whether people like it or not. Nobody knows the plan for Bridgewater at the moment, but as professional, Cam's outburst on twitter was uncalled for.

Giving a player permission to look for a trade does not automatically= we mutually agreed to anything. Many times it means that the organization wants to give a long-time player the chance to find a place they're comfortable going to with their current contract. They could easily cut him and have every right to.

Either way, back to the subject, this has been happening behind the scenes for years... 100% of us can agree Marty Hurney is a yes man and always will be. The assistant GM conversation is already coming up, I think Hurney is going to retire soon after getting some good retirement checks stowed away during his 2nd run in Carolina. He has likely agreed to be the fall guy for bringing the Richardson era guys out of here as Tepper gets his guys in.

We are probably going to suck in 2020, I don't think the goal is to get better in 2020, but this is 9/10 not normal. Nick Foles didn't jump on the Eagles in 2014 when they replaced him with Sam Bradford... this doesn't happen.

P.S to all Panthers (now alumni) who are jumping on our staff and Owner... DECLINING AN OFFER IS A MUTUAL PARTING.

Edit: Cam started the first by announcing his return prematurely when DT and Marty wouldn't speak up about the matter and put a rookie NFL HC in a bad situation. That's honestly why I think Cam is gone.

While I agree with most of it, I think Cams outburst was not only related to the fact the team did not want to extend him but also that the team made it out to be him that wanted out. Cam has always been a huge fan guy so surely he would make it clear that he has not wanted to get traded and get out of here.

I largely agree with this.  Much rather have the guillotine show we're seeing now than a bunch of over-pampered players getting loyalty contracts handed out like during JR's tenure.

All these players getting cut were more than fine cashing the game checks when their play had declined or were injured.

I honestly forsee us going 2-14 in 2020 just based off a major culture change. Trevor Lawrence/ Justin Fields likely sits behind H20 1-2 years.

Tepper and the Panthers can do business the way they see fit regardless of how we feel. But that doesn't mean people have to ignore the subsequent ripple effects that will take place over time with the cost of doing business a certain way that makes waves. They are in the business of selling a product. In this case, the Panthers. If they're setting fires everywhere they go it's difficult to build much along the way.

If this is the new norm, beware. I say this as a Panthers fan who has seen some poo over the years.

So we're going to ignore the fact a player decided to announce a front office decision while David Tepper and Marty Hurney we're declining any questions to the media about it?

David Tepper was not at the combine and Matt Rhule saw Cam's commitment video (which we know now was likely about some sort of extension). He made a poor choice to give that speech that every other NFL team obviously did not buy (as reported). I think DT would've likely asked him to say nothing had he been there... I doubt the owner would appreciate calls every 10 minutes about how to approach the media.

Ultimately, Cam started this fire and the front office is taking the burns.

Cam keeps his mouth shut> Tepper never comments on his "I'm coming back." Radio crap> Rhule never has to deal with Cam's craziness on instagram.

Cam flipped off this team  (Don't try to convince me it was to anybody else), Spoke for the FO and shared employment disputes with the world, put our rookie HC in a bad situation, and wonders why he's getting fired. Let's throw onto the fire having two woman pregnant at once after being hurt for 3 years.

Edit: Both sides made mistake, but don't try to pretend TD, Olsen, Cam we're not being shady on how they handled it. All we're big JR guys.

You Company Men are just adorable, in your white shirts and your bow ties.  THE BIG BOSS IS SO PROUD OF YOU!  (Even though he doesn't know your name and wouldn't have you step across his door-step if his life depended on it.)

    • Trying to help those 3 folks who hate this move.    In 2025 2.75 million is basically the new "vet" minimum.    They still need #3 RB and returner, draft could/should be the lane for that.    There's no downside to this move, they could cut with little effect and replace with your chosen rookie.
    • Is it though? Even looking at just this past year, DK played 3 more games and had 81 more yards than Higgins had, but he also did it on less catches, with DK averaging 15 yards per catch and Higgins with 12.5. Yes, Higgins had 10 TDs to DK's 5, but I'd say that was far less about the WRs than the QBs, seeing as Burrow had 43 TDs (and only 9 INTs) to Geno's 21 TDs (and 15 INTs).  Swap the two of them last year and DK puts up better stats with Burrow as his QB than Higgins did, no doubt about it in my mind. DK has also only missed 3 games in his career, Higgins has missed 5 in each of the last 2 seasons. People here complain about our WR speed (and it's many people's biggest issue with T-Mac in the draft), but Higgins ran a 4.59 40 and DK ran a 4.33. DK has only played one more season than Higgins but he has 1,730 yards and 14 TDs more than Higgins, despite playing with the ghost of Russell Wilson and Geno Smith, while Higgins has had Burrow. To me, there is no debate, DK is a significantly better WR than Higgins.  Give him Burrow as his QB during his career and his numbers would dwarf what Higgins has put up.
