I can't image Belichick taking someone who is over 30, injury history and more importantly fundamentally unsound as a passer as Cam. Talent along has never been enough in NE. I could be wrong but I doubt it.

Maybe, maybe not....but what I'm telling you, is that were I him, I would be on the way up there with hat in hand looking for a job.  Who knows what BB would do, but I know what I would do.

Cam is going to have a tough call to make coming up soon.

Do I want money and security, or do I want to do anything to get my career back on track?

I can't speak for Cam Newton, but if I were in his inner circle, I would be telling him to not worry about the money, let's go try to win, show the world, revive my once great career.....but I'm not.

But, if I were Cam, I would be heading to New England.  I'd take a team friendly 2 year deal, and I would give it my very best shot.  At least if I were done...I would know that I had given it my best shot at being a winner at the end.  Not trying to spend the mans money, but that's what I would personally do.

Cam Newton is probably damaged goods and is why we are moving on unfortunately. He will make a nice pay check if we cut him. After that he will make back up money.

That's not good news for Newton or the Panthers.

For the Panthers, it makes it highly unlikely that anybody is going to trade anything for him (as has already been speculated). They'll wind up releasing him and getting nothing in return.

But for Newton, it means that if he's released, he's probably not going to get much in the way of long-term offers. More likely, interested teams will offer one year "prove it" contracts, and those may not pay significantly more than what he was set to make with the Panthers.

Granted, playing out the final year of his contract with Carolina with no guarantees was a risky proposition for Newton anyway. Now he'll quite likely face the same risky situation, just somewhere else.

He will end up being released.  We ain't getting anything for him but cap relief.

Maybe the Patriots once he is out there although they have cap issues.  Honestly don't know if the Chargers aren’t interested

I went through a list of teams and came up with the following:

NEED A QB:  Partiots, Chargers, Dolphins.

Lots of mock drafts I see show Chargers and Dolphins taking either Tua or Hebert depending.

HAVE A QB BUT?:  Redskins.

Would Riverboat consider bringing in Cam?  A mighty big circus would come with it.

All the other teams are set at QB.

So, the list is very short....only one clear opening where the team doesn't have a high draft pick, the Patriots.

Time for Cam's agent to earn his money and prying money out of Belichick is like squeezing water from a stone.
