Tepper lost all credibility when retaining Hurney as GM

When Tepper kept Ron you had this stance.  When Tepper kept Marty you had this stance.

I said when Marty was brought in that he would trash the franchise once again, that has been proven right.  We are now adrift with no direction, that's a Marty Special...it's what he does.

So you keep telling people to remain calm, to not get upset, and to see how the plan unfolds, and I'll just tell people to keep looking at the scoreboard, and to use their brains for even a moment.

The leadership and direction of this team have not been good under Tepper.

You have your opinions, stop acting like they are facts. Do you actually know the difference?  From your comments I really doubt you do.  I can't argue that the results under Tepper have been good. They haven't. But that doesn't mean they will continue in that direction. They may or might not.

Perhaps the difference between us is that I have learned what I can and cannot control and try to not let things out of my control upset or anger me and in cases where the future is still unknown, not over react until I have more facts. Obviously you are different and that is up to you. But that hardly makes you right or even justified.

Yeah, Hurney looks like an idiot when he gave Reid a 3 year deal last year and we outright cut him before the start of year 2...

Reid being cut after Hurney gave him a three year deal is a strong sign that Hurney is not currently calling the shots these days. He may suck, but not because of these current moves. He's a figurehead at this point, probably more of a scapegoat, and by the tone of most of the posts on this board, it's working.

As much as I dislike Hurney I’m thinking Rhule has a lot of input into the decision making process. You don’t pay a HC that much money and tell him to just coach.

I doubt Rhule is negotiating and backloading the contracts.  Hurney should stay TF away from the cap.

Can't say it enough - the MAJORITY of this fan base has lost all trust in this regime the moment they failed to hire a new GM and demote / fire Hurney.  The fact that he's in charge of "rebuilding" or "retooling" the team is absurd.  As a GM, he has never consistently put together a winning roster.  Somehow he's weaseled his way into good graces of Tepper.  We should start a Fan PETITION  to fire Hurney immediately.  Who's with me?

Tepper lost all credibility when he agreed with a change to a full on 3-4 - a 2 year project in the NFL - and then fired the Head Coach after one season in transition; a season that saw your Franchise QB injured, turnstile offensive line, and a few Pro Bowl defensive linemen injured.

You can't half-ass something and call it quits middle of the way through. Perhaps the Panthers are back up in another two years but it's along the same timeline we would've been back up had we kept Rivera in place anyway. So what's the point? Rivera could've fired Norv and brought in Joe Brady himself.

One thing I know for certain is that Rhule isn't going to be a better X's and O's guy than Rivera was.

Did he really have any to begin with?

Adding the team logo to the midfield and adding a bubble practice field is low hanging fruit. JR was just to deaf to get those complaints. Maybe he liked watching grown men practicing for millions of dollars in a hotel ball room and he was just living his best life.

Tepper has pitched 5 years to do what anyone decent could do in 3 years with plenty of bumps in the road. So where did any credibility come from in the first place? Having billions of dallars? I would refer you to Jerry Jones and Dan Snyder.

Speaking of contracts, didn't Tepper or Hurney just hire a contract negotiator person of some sort?  Where's that guy?

lol at you if you think it’s Hurney that’s pulling all the strings right now

This--

I think Marty is transitional and will be given some job behind the lines once we get through this--

This is not Marty-like--this is fire sale.
The window on this team closed.  It had a ton of potential, a good QB, a good D, and they still only had 3 winning seasons--it was coaching.

Is it even a fire sale, though?

We've seen other teams conduct fire sales. Even though it was obvious they were dumping talent, they still at least looked like they had a clue what they were doing.

Right now, this team looks like the decisions are being made by people who don't know how the NFL works.

(and I'm sure there's a good reason for that)

Like what? Serious question, other than mishandling the Cam narrative, what bone headed decisions have they made so far? We haven't seen them field a practice, haven't seen how they conduct a draft. All they've done so far is make some moderate FA acquisitions, and let a bunch of the old guard from the prior regime walk. I agree with RR and Jeremy's take that Hurney is here as a scapegoat. I don't see what all of the fuss is about thus far.

    • I like that a lot; Ware from Troy and also Khalil Mack who played at University of Buffalo
    • I remember the Huddle consensus over the course of last season and the previous one. Lots of Bryce is a bust, we should've drafted a 4th slot WR, should've kept Wilks, should've kept an armless Cam, etc etc. So... yea... already thought about that. I wouldn't trust the Huddle to detail my car, let alone run a multi-billion dollar professional sports team. 😛
    • bold prediction, I think Mike Green will be the best pass rusher in this class, and thats even with abdul carter.  He reminds me of demarcus ware, not just in size and prowess, but even coming from a Sunbelt school (Ware from Troy, Green from Marshall).  I think he is passionate about the sport where I think Carter as the physical freak might not have the heart.  Thats the guy Im sold on and am gonna hammer the table for, I know he's not projected 8, but he is projected like 12-13, so if a slide back can happen and we still get the guy I want, I'm 100% on board. All that said, it takes 2 to tango, I think the Cowboys are the tango-er.  IMO theres a VERY good shot that Jeanty is available at 8.  Why does that matter?  Not only do the cowboys NEED a runningback (dak sucks without a run game), but MORE importantly, gee where did Jeanty play in high school.....Frisco TX, literally Dallas Metro.  Soo, RB is a position of need and the best RB and most blue chip draft selection that  could improve the offense immensly played IN dallas metro AND will be in range for them to move up and pick?  Do ya think Jerry Jones is gonna just say no to the Jersey Sales?  Jerry might have sexually assaulted a woman and attempted to prevent black people from going to school, but he's no idiot (he is).  IMO, we get a good enough package, prlly their first and third,  maybe a conditional later and we move to 12.  We get Green, they get Jeanty, everbuddy happy.
