If you say "Tank" then you have never done anything competitive in your life

You don't make life sacrifices and grind it out everyday to be at the professional level to go out there and purposefully lose.

Even if this is the sentiment of the F.O good luck trying to get the players on the field out there playing for food money to go a long with that BS.

Players are going to give there best.

For me it’s not about tanking it’s about doing whatever it takes to get the cap space and draft capital. I Would’ve much rather we play Allen this year and at least be in position to get Lawrence or Fields. If we don’t get a qb in this years draft the Teddy signing is pointless.

Tanking doesn’t work in the nfl.  You have 53 man rosters.  Tank for  2-3 possible starters with a 22 man d and o.  Less than 10 % of team starters.  Works for nba- 20% of starter with 1 player. Tanking teams are Cleveland, jets, phins, bungles.  Which of these have competed for a super bowl?

Did we not tank in 2010 to get Cam? Where would we even be now without him?

The idea that tanking can be a positive thing competitively is not a sound position imo.

So many moving parts. You may or may not get any players you are targeting, and they may or may not develop as anticipated.

You should always try to put the best team you can on the field while acknowledging the big picture, of course. But simply going out to lose in order to improve draft position is a terrible idea in my view.
