The thing about plans? They're changeable.

People claiming disinformation is the way to go are not trustworthy. This isn't stocks or wallstreet. It's team building. If killing a sheep for all the other sheep to see just to show em' all is you Scot, have at it and have at the Carolina Teppers in their empty stadium.

Referring to the public statements, meaning you can say you "plan" to do a certain thing but then not do it and just say that the plans changed.

The team was always using very flexible language when they talked about Newton.

Flexible might be a stretch. Noncommittal is more like it. Even Rhule was noncommittal until he was put on the spot and even still, didn't sound convincing in the least.

"I plan on that. I certainly think I will be."

“One thing people don’t realize is coaches, we pick up our families. We rip them out of their homes. We rip them out of the places that they are. Sometimes you do that until you get to a point where you find happy. You shouldn’t mess with happy."

"There’s a lot to accomplish at Baylor. And most importantly, it’s just each and every year, I want to put together a championship-caliber team. And I think we have a chance to be even better next year than we are this year.  More than money, it’s about the situation for my family."

- Matt Rhule, December 31 2019, when asked if he was going to stay at Baylor

People act as if a quote from a presser is a binding contract.  The Panthers, from what I read, were not speaking about Cam.  That alone should have told you more than some carefully-selected words when forced to answer a question by a reporter.  So they said what they felt at the time.  You do not start predicting what may happen--at that time, they did not know Bridgewater was an option.

Here is another thing nobody mentions:  Your star QB hurts his shoulder and waits until MARCH 30, 2017 to have the surgery---over three months after being benched with a torn rotator cuff---you operate on that injury.  Do they heal on their own?  Rarely.

Even though most tears cannot heal on their own, good function can often be achieved without surgery. If, however, you are active and use your arm for overhead work or sports, then surgery is most often recommended because many tears will not heal without surgery.

https://orthoinfo.aaos.org/en/diseases--conditions/rotator-cuff-tears-frequently-asked-questions/

Why delay that surgery--that throws off OTAs, summer conditioning, timing with WRs, everything.

His foot surgery?  How long is there between September and December?  So we are--once again---in limbo.  You either have a bad team of doctors or you have a player who is reluctant to have surgery so he puts it off.  Here is what Marty said in early Nov about Cam when putting him on IR on NOVEMBER 5, 2019:

"For the past seven weeks, Cam has diligently followed a program of rest and rehab and still is experiencing pain in his foot. He saw two foot specialists last week who agreed that he should continue that path prescribed by the team’s medical staff, and that it likely will take significant time for the injury to fully heal."

OVER A MONTH LATER on DECEMBER 11---After 2 doctors had been watching over this situation since September---Cam has surgery that takes a long time to heal.  If they had watched him for nearly 3 months and decided to IR him in early NOVEMBER, Why wait another 5 weeks for the surgery?

Imagine how far along he would be if he had the surgery at the end of October?  We would be in better position to know where we stand.

We do not know the details, but there could be more here than meets the eye--was Cam delaying the inevitable, causing us to lose valuable time and seasons?  Was it the doctors?  RR?  Who was behind this apparent ineptitude?

I will also say that the team's medical staff played the "let's wait and see how Cam's shoulder progresses" thing as well.

I'm not someone who always wants to jump to surgery right away, but we are talking about physicians who should be the ABSOLUTE BEST at what they do treating an elite athlete.  I never understood why Cam didn't go directly to Dr. James Andrews and his crew about his shoulder as soon as it happened.

We'll never know if it was Cam's wishes or the team's doctors who wanted to take the "wait and see approach," but if it was the doctors I would be irate if I was Cam.

I think our team doctors need reevaluating and some mutual parting of ways needs to happen.

Even though we knew Cam was leaving how does Bridgewater make any sense? Same but maybe worse injury history than Cam.

Arthritic condition? Is Cam playing into his 40's, 50's, 60's?!? No. Does the shoulder have mersa? No. It's not degenerating in 3yrs.

This guy wants all the glory. Watch out. NFL is a tough business.

Rhule came in like a wrecking ball. And was a scapegoat from the jump. Immediately thrown under the bus. I think Luke knew all this stuff and thats why he retired. He was like yea this organization is going to crap. Ill retire with who we used to be before I play with who you guys are now.
