The Bears don't have the cap space for Newton.  They will have to make the room.  Doubt this happens.

Not sure how the capologists could maneuver this, but if they get the Panthers to eat some money, maybe...

Cam is actually worth the gamble.  If you get him in a trade, it is actually a one-year prove it deal.  Not a $120m, 4 year commitment.

I would make the deal based on a neutral physician's prognosis.

The Chargers have the most cap room, so adding Cam would not be that bad.  The Redskins have some room.  The Bears?  It would be harder for them, but they can do it.

Unless he won’t play without a new deal, which seems feasible... Even still he’s probably worth the risk for a team like the Bears or Chargers.

The Bears and Chargers seem like the best trade possibilities right now. Maybe the Patriots too but the thought of Marty Hurney negotiating with Bill Belichick makes me cringe.

Kinda doubt we're gonna get as good a value as we might have if the team hadn't bungled the PR.

I agree the FO could have done a better job. But, the FO couldn't trade him earlier because he couldn't pass a physical. If the NFL had suspended all operations because of Covid, would have helped the Panthers out.

Teams still have motivation to trade with the Panthers, main one being that, if Cam becomes a FA, there's no guarantee that he'll sign with, say the Bears, or the Patriots, or the Chargers. He'll also want a multiyear deal and more money.

Pats have 3 third round picks this year, get a 3rd rounder and a 2021 pick that's based on his performance.

Honestly, if we just didnt sign Teddy, I would like what we are doing so far. The Teddy signing hurt Cam's trade value, our money and he sucks. Hopefully we get T Law, but Im hearing Hurney LOVES Herbert

Don't get the hate for Teddy. He plays good and is a winner. Not a bad deal imo but keep hating if u want.

Teddy is a 20 million dollar back up level QB. You will never convince me he could be a super bowl winning QB. I would personally rather have Mitch over Teddy Checkdown
