Canf find his contract details

Edit: he is non copensatory, meaning no picks from him

No one knows his contract details.  You can't find it on any website.  If his compensation is more than 2.25 million, which it is hard to believe it would not be, he will net us something.  But since no one knows they won't put a pick or a round for him.  Also Seth Roberts, may not make this team.  At best he is looking at a 4th receiver but he does not return punts or kick offs, so it would not shock me if he gets taken out of the equation entirely.

It looks like he will have to be signed for 4 mil or more according to the chart by otc

Edit: nvm I understand now, the 2.25 would cancel Daryl Williams

No it has to be more than 2.25 million to count for us against the formula.   So if Irving is say 3 million we would have 2 comp picks( probably both 7th rounders).  One for Irving and one for Williams.

Crazy we won’t get one comp pick with all the free agents we had. The part the stings the most is losing a 3rd for Bradberry while spotting NO a 3rd for Teddy in a year we shouldn’t be trying to compete.

No kidding. Just so we could go 6-10 and miss out on Lawrence. To think that we could have saved $90M in cap (Teddy, Short and Anderson for 2020 and 2021) while we weren’t going to compete. I’d much rather have all that cap to roll over and an extra 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th next year.

We also gave Atlanta a 3rd for Poe two years ago.

I don't care if we don't get extra picks so long as we have a good Oline. That's worth the trade off.

We could have taken a G or C with all 4 comp picks. Probably would have helped us find a starter or two that isn’t on a one year deal.

Here’s our starting 2020 OL that’s under contract for 2021:

Matt Paradis

2022:

(crickets)

Comp picks are a good thing. We could have easily bolstered our interior OL with young guys just like we did D this year. Wasting the comp picks just to have $90M less cap rollover when we are competitive was a bad move all around.
