Comp pick update

Did the Cardinals cut him late in the year or something?  I could have sworn he was on their squad last year and not the the Rams.

Panthers signed WR Pharoh Cooper to a one year contract.

Cooper earned All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors in 2017 as a returner with the Rams before getting his most work yet as a receiver with the Cardinals in 2019. Overall, Cooper caught 25-of-33 passes for 243 yards and a touchdown as a backup WR in the Cardinals' four-WR heavy offense. He'll likely work as the Panthers' No. 4 WR behind D.J. Moore, Curtis Samuel and probably Seth Roberts.

You may be correct Sir. He was worth the Rams in 2018.

Solid argument. In the year of a total rebuild we sign a bunch JAG FAs.  Makes total sense.  Maybe Hurney finally understands his weaknesses.

Some people don’t get it. SF has been drafting way more than 7 picks the past 5 or so years and it’s helped. Just because we can’t pick the right guys like Grier doesn’t mean we couldn’t have gotten Max Crosby or Chauncey Gardner-Johnson with that pick.

OMG 20 some odd years ago...And Tom Brady?  lol

Lol. You are showing your lack of understanding if you think comp picks are a waste. Might as well just throw away all picks after round 2. No good players ever come after that. SMH.

Scary to think we easily could have gotten a 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th round picks in 2021 and we will get nothing for our mass exodus of FAs. I don’t think people understand how bad Hurney is. Why would you just give that up when we are signing poo as FAs because we have so many holes?

Apparently Hurney thinks rolling over cap room for the next year is moronic too.   Comp picks are as worthless as junk bonds and building cap equity for year 2 of a rebuild is for chumps too.

Hurney, buddy, you are playing some 5-D chess right now.  It's so brilliant it damn near looks retarded!

It’s not so bad when it’s all laid out in front of us. We needed Teddy (who cost us a 3rd), Anderson will be our number 2 WR (cost us a 4th) and Weatherly and Burris might end up starting until our rookies are ready, plus we need some veteran players. Almost all the pick ups that cost us comp picks can be justified. It’s clear that Rhule is wanting to put a some what competitive team on the field quickly and I have no problem with that. The main thing we did this year is clear out future salaries and lock in CMC. We have a super young and what appears to be talented defense. Next year will probably be our future QB and offensive line. We will have Okung this year to help evaluate Little and Daley. Rhule looks to be building a long term competitive team, which is exactly what they said he would do.
