My question is still does Teddy count at all against the formula?  Teddy had a voided year from New Orleans for 2020.  Do they treat that as a declined option or as a free agent.  If the formula treats that as a declined option Teddy does not count at all against the formula.  Someone that is stuck in quarantine take a few hours and see if you can figure this out.

If the guy at OverTheCap is counting Bridgewater as an eligible UFA then he’ll count because that guy nails nearly all, if not all, the projected compensatory picks each year.

So we appreciate our new 2021 3rd round pick. Love you guys.

So we have 5 UFAs signed and 5 singed away.  Net=0.   Hurney needs to pump the breaks.   I know a corner, TE and especially a DT are all needed, but unfortunately we will have to go into the draft with a few holes remaining.  Everything can't be addressed in FA.  Now we have to hope guys like Hogan, Love and Daryl Williams get picks up so we can get at least one comp pick back, hopefully two.

We have signed 4 and lost 5. John Miller doesn't count since he was cut. Right now we have a 4th for Addison. When Van Roten signs maybe a 5th or 6th rounder.

Interesting, didn’t know he had a voided year. I’ve seen speculation that they don’t count and get treated now as if the player was released.

Actually, just checked Teddy signed a one year deal, he counts. The voided year isn’t the same as declining team option (like Poe). It’s not a real year, just play money for the cap. No special conditions, straight up UFA. The Vikings declined his 5th year option but that was years ago.

There is also a chance Seth Roberts contract is low enough he won't count. Have to see what his contract numbers are.

Doesn’t matter. He still cancels out our lowest FA lost. That one is so dumb. Roberts is like Boston, most teams would wait until after the draft so he doesn’t count. We sign him right away because you know you don’t want to lose the chance at getting Seth Roberts.

We have to wait until the numbers on the contract comes out. If the contract is less than $2.5/yr mil they aren't considered qualified for the comp pick formula and don't cancel anybody out.  This is the same for the 2 player signed today. Also, if they are cut before the season they won't count.

That’s the best news I have heard this offseason.

That's what you are figuring the 7th round floor at is $2.5 million /yr?  Last year the floor got below $2 million.

They changed the formula with the new CBA to make it the top 35% count instead of the top 50% previously. The estimate according to the over the cap guy was around 2.5 mil.
