So this means we will probably skip drafting a guy in an extremely deep and talented safety draft class.  Par for the course right now. Oh yeah, Hurney is still here.

No that means we are not forced to pick one early or we don’t have to. We still have DT, DE, WLB, 2 corner spots, WR, and G to fill........

PANTHERS SIGN S TRE BOSTON TO A THREE-YEAR, $18 MILLION EXTENSION

Ladies and gentlemen, he has done it. Boston has secured a multi-year deal. The fact that he had played each of the past three seasons on one-year contracts is baffling when you look at his coverage numbers. Over those three seasons, he ranks second in coverage grade at the safety position among qualifiers, and his 27 combined pass breakups and interceptions are fewer than only Kevin Byard. The guy has been one of the best free safeties in coverage in the entire NFL. That makes this an excellent move for the Panthers at just $6 million per year, a deal that doesn’t even make him one of the 20 highest paid safeties in the NFL.

He was a quality pick up last year both on and off the field. He grew up a lot between his first time here and the current. I can see the new regime needing to keep a guy like him here.

And good for him! He's worked really, really hard to get a spot, a stable spot on a team. His reward is richly deserved.

Tre has always loved football and is amazing in the locker room. He is a steal at 6m per year, he is alot better then alot of you give him credit for. Watch him when we get an actual dline that can stop the run and he doesn't have to worry about the PA as much. Imo the quarter of the field behind bradberry improved last year.

We still need a SS that has decent to good coverage skills.

I think that's what they brought Burris in for.  We have plenty of bodies at safety, so it's not a lack of quantity issue, it's a quality issue.

Well Burris can also play cb but tbh I just looked over the CBS in this class and there's good depth there in the 2nd and 3rd round. Haven't looked over safetys yet.... But I'm starting to think DT in the first and a CB in the 2nd.

The safety class is LOADED.  I'm looking as high as the second round.  I mean there's no Derwin James (unless you convert Simmons to a safety) at the top of the board, but very deep and talented.  I've seen as many as 7 with Day 1 and 2  grades, most of those in round 1(late) and round 2.

Then this seems like a good draft for us if we take advantage 1.DT 2.CB 3.S...so rounds 1 to 3 we should get starters due to the varying depth of the classes. As high as we pick in each round too we should do well. I think we can get a #1 cb in the second this year picking where we are. Oh and if fotu falls could you imagine him and brown on running downs and goal line stands with KK added?
