Jonathan Jones says that we would be lucky to get a 3rd round pick for our MVP. And all of the guys we have lost in free agency and moving forward plus the guys in the past we just never get any ROI on any of them. Why is that?

This is really stupid.  Who in the league was trading for an injured Cam Newton?  Nobody was giving us anything!  Wake up!

The writing has been on the wall for a long time! But could he have handled it better and gone above and beyond the normal lying? Of course! He probably didn't want to put the franchise at a competitive disadvantage while things were still working themselves out! It's not an excuse, but a reason.

In retrospect, he (and Rhule) should've taken a page out of Hurney's playbook on this one and been noncommittal!

We've just begun the new era, no need to be over-the-top negative; a certain amount of cynicism is understandable.

How does this work ?  If we trade him for a 4th or 5th ,we will lose a comp pick .  If we cut him (a former #1 pick ) what could we get in a comp pick ?

We don't know what went on behind closed doors.  Maybe Cam did want to stay, but the team determined it would be to the detriment of the organization trying to move forward.  Maybe Tepper and Rhule never wanted Cam to begin with.  Maybe Cam never wanted to be part of a rebuild.  Both sides are obviously trying to protect their image to and perception from the fans.  We were headed this direction sooner or later, anyway.  Nothing stays the same forever.

Meh, looking like this team will never be run well. I knew that was the risk when JR was dethroned.
