A failure to trade Christian McCaffrey will cost us Trevor or Fields

yeah running back is a low value position with a short shelf life and it makes no sense for the team to hand a gigantic contract to one when you have no hope of competing in the next few years at best. if you trade him now you maximize the return of assets that can be used to build toward the future of this team.

you're telling on yourself as people like you often do.

You've already told on yourself as you are constantly promoting your agenda on this site daily.

As for everything else you said, I agree RB is a low value position and can have a low shelf life. However, not every situation is cut and dry, and it makes no sense to trade the best player on the team (and one of the best in the league).  I disagree we have "no hope of competing in the next few years". Obviously, next year looks bleak but to determine this far in advance we don't have a chance to be competitive in 2021 is idiotic and shortsighted.

Nope. Losing is going to be so easy that no extra effort will be needed. It’s that mixed reboot. How you like it so far?

Oh I’m enjoying it about as much as you are I suppose....

We will have the Number 1 pick next year while trying to win,.. that’s the irony

If we are forcing a trade on Cam and we are signing two backups hoping they can be starters as our FAs, what would you call that?

I call that being cute...

Also, just like Ron,.. Cam is a Jerry holdover and Tepper wants his own stamp.

personally what I think is we will draft Herbert, Tua, or Love and they will sit ala Patrick Mahomes or Aaron Rodgers.

Uhh....that’s not exactly true. I’m ecstatic, because I wanted Cam anywhere but here. This is much tougher on you and the rest of the fans on here. I don’t have a stake in this anymore, but if I did, the last couple days would be extremely discouraging for the future. I know this sux for y’all.

But you definitely caught my point. Irony fits.

Top 5 pick isn't good enough.

We need a top 2 pick, and probably top 1 (Fields is risky).

Fields looks like less of a risk than Cam when he came out for the draft. Top 5 should be fine. We pair the 5th pick with Teddy to move up.

If they give Bridgewater 60M, who knows what they are thinking?  I’d trade down as much as possible.

I would trade down too,..

but this isn’t you or me. We are talking the same GM that wet himself grabbing Little and wasting 2 picks to do so.

The Saints got as much production from their UDFAs as the Panthers did from their actual drafted players. Not to mention getting two starters in the only 2 picks they had in the top 150.

So in a year where they should have been closing the talent gap just by sheer number of picks, the Panthers lost significant space and fell off the cliff.

Just another “How did we get here” footnote.

Yep. They wasted an entire draft... like we would have been better off skipping the whole thing.

the 2 “starters” I’m assuming you are talking the 2 3-4 outside linebackers that are now rendered worthless.

they could have just kept trading back for a ton of 5th or higher draft picks,.. taken all the preferred UDFA basically

To be honest, anyone who can't "see how we got here" doesn't understand football very well.

Hurney is bad enough on his own, mix in a meddling owner and an green as an apply head coach, and none of this is surprising.

  Noooo...

The starters I was talking about Were the Saints only two picks in the first 5 rounds. Eric McCoy and CG Johnson. We had 6 picks in the same span, And got Burns, Little Grier, Miller and Scarlett and one thrown away.

And the Panthers chose to bring in 8 AAF players instead of UDFAs(only 4). While the Saints found a good rotational DT, an AllPro PR(not that we needed that) and several others who played.
