There will be no closure on the Cam situation for months

Just be prepared. With the coronavirus just beginning, Cam won’t be able to take a physical for a team for very possibly several months. Nobody will trade for him without a physical. We may see a trade reported and “terms agreed to” only to have that team back out when the physical can happen down the road. Also, highly doubt he’ll be able to take a physical for a team before the draft which hurts his trade market and our return, as teams who take QBs in the draft won’t be interested.

I'm sure for something of this magnitude he could conduct a physical.

Even if only 'essential personnel' are present

NFL has shutdown all team facilities and football business travel indefinitely. That’s not changing any time soon because of Cam Newton and the Panthers. Maybe if the Cowboys were involved...

Does a physical have to happen at team facilities?

This board is about to be really quiet for the coming months from a large portion of the franchise jumping ship after this news.

How could anyone blame any fans that bail? The Panthers are about to be completely unrecognizable from the team and organization that fans have rooted for all these years. Except, that is, for the one man that virtually no one wants - Marty Hurney. The anchor around the neck will be the line piece remaining.

Oh wee mayne indeed.

That’s what being a fan is all about. You stick around through the highs and lows. I don’t blame people for jumping ship but don’t come back around if and when we rise above mediocrity.

I'm not bailing on the Panthers, I could never do that, but I will admit I'm not sure how interested I am in the team right now.  I still love them, but seriously is there any reason to think we'll be any better than below average?

When there's massive turnover with a team and organization it's probably safe to assume that same turnover in fanbase, at least for awhile. The Panthers that we all rooted for are soon to no longer exist. There's positives and negatives to that but there's going to be fan turnover. Hell, even our media guys are leaping off this flaming ship.

Teams will have access to all medical records up to this point and be able to have local doctors do any additional testing and have any workouts  electronically.  That being said ,I would expect the draft compensation to be in 2021 and have contingencies for performance and signing a long term contract.

    • I think it will be hard to not go edge in the second if we go QB first. Say you have Starks, one of Bond/Egbuka, and maybe one Edge (don't have a name to throw out that is end of 1st round projected and may slide)... do you still go Starks? Just curious. I haven't looked into starks much, as I've been focused on QB, WR, and DL prospects.
