I was a big fan when he entered the draft and was thrilled when the Vikings took him (have a soft spot for them in the NFC as all my family is from MN and they’re a respectable team). But his play in the NFL has soured me on his prospects as a starter quite a bit. Great kid, great attitude, great leader. Weak arm, questionable decision making (I.e. afraid to take chances), poor pocket presence, knee injury hurt his mobility. Not a fan of him at this point.

And I think with our OL and only weapons being McC and Moore, along with our 32nd ranked D (likely), Teddy will do just fine in getting us Lawrence and only 1-3 wins at most.

He did well enough running the NO offense last season to go 5-0, and will have weapons like CMC, Moore, and Samuel to work with (along with maybe Thomas, but I see the team bringing in another weapon at either WR and/or TE). The protection is nowhere near what NO had, but I think the focus currently is on rebuilding the DL (again :() but we will see how it looks opening day.

I'm super salty about Cam still.

Look at those games he started and how they won them. Their ST, D and run game stepped it up big time, Teddy was not good. He eliminated mistakes but they hid him, he didn’t win them any of those games. That was the perfect situation for a QB like Teddy to come in and not lose games for them. Our situation is almost the exact opposite.

I actually like the signing, as long as we draft a QB and/or still tank for Trevor this year. Let Teddy be a bridge and mentor to our future franchise guy; as long as we aren’t relying on him to be “the guy” and win us games, I’m happy with it. If he’s our plan at QB for the near and mid term future, then I’ll be livid.

For most of em, yea. He did have a 300+ yard game, but he was also incredibly efficient (solid completion %s + passer rating) and rarely turned the ball over.

The offense is going to try and get our athletes like CMC and DJ in space so that they can do damage the way that they do best. Teddy has experience doing that, and he'll be able to bring along any young QBs that we happen to end up having on the roster at the end of his deal.
