Yeah I don't see the big deal with being a fan of the player first. Im the same in the NBA wherever Lebron goes I go. Im from Carolina so the Panthers/Hornets will always be secondary teams I root for just because it is the home state team. But the Panthers are no longer my main team, im going wherever Cam goes.

No big deal, but people seem to think it is.lol

Hmm. Where u going if he is done?

i do think both videos, and the subsequent flipping the bird decreased his desirability and trade value.   he's a qb.  i also get reminded a lot that talent overcomes everything in the nfl, as is the case with AB.   i mean that dude, damn, but he'll get work at some point most likely, again.

Yeah. It he isn't  a head case like AB has proven to be. He is an eccentric guy with big injury issues.

Possibly some player will decline to play for the Panthers because they are mad and feel Cam was treated unfairly.

I've not seen any evidence of that but it's surely possible.

Personally I believe it will be a complete non-factor.  Could be wrong, time will tell.  @Delhomme2Muhammad

I'm not talking about being mad at the Panthers like they're a fan on a forum or facebook. I'm talking about creating the "intangibles".

Boston will be a professional, and he'll play the best he can. But is he really going to give a poo when it comes to "winning" or adding to the supposed new "culture" the team will now have? Even if it's not the highest priority in his career, would he aspire to be a Panther Hall of Honor member?

**** no. He's just seen how the current regime has treated the best player in Panthers history. He also knows he'll be short on that by the time his contract is up. So he's not going to give a **** when things gets a little hard and he's not sure if it'll be worthwhile for him to make a difference.

Does it really matter though? Hypothetically if he didn’t pass his physical the bridge between cam and the fo is burnt, having him as a fallback plan would take a immense makeup

The bridge with Newton is definitely burnt.

There's little doubt Bridgewater will pass his physical, but even if he doesn't the Panthers would most likely just go in a different direction. There are more options out there right now than there are starting jobs available.

That's a big reason why I think they're doing Newton a disservice by hanging on to him.

I wonder how many Patriots will decline to play? How many Colts decline to play with Peyton was cut? Its not going to happen.

My point, somethings fishy about the non release of him by now and rumors are there been trade talks but the asking price hasn’t been “high” don’t know what we are trying to accomplish by hanging on to him this long

I don't know that they're trying to accomplish anything. There's not really anything to gain.

It's probably just as simple as Newton being released about five seconds after Bridgewater is official.

Granted, there could be something more, but I doubt it.

Don’t do that. Don’t give me hope.

Hope for a trade or staying on the team ? Cause I’m 99.9% sure cam won’t be a panther barring one of the most 180 turnarounds in sport history, which would have to include teddy failing a physical and a makeup between cam and the fo, highly highly unlikely
