Dude, we're not keeping him.

I get that you want it to happen, but it's not happening. All you're doing right now is setting yourself up for disappointment.

I don't see a way we can keep him. We are riding it close to the line on the salary cap as it is. And, I finally agree with your original take on this, I don't see any way Cam is willing to play on the last year of that deal now. I think that bridge has been burned.

I would be shocked if he doesn't get cut in the next week.

Latest word was that Newton changed his mind and was willing to play out that last year. The team still didn't want him.

Barring a last minute Hail Mary from the trade market, it sounds like he'll be cut as soon as Teddy Bridgewater passes a physical.

Yeah and I think that would have been the prudent move. That obviously is not going to happen once they pissed Cam off. I just don't see a way they could have blundered this deal any more. It isn't really even that they got rid of Cam, it was the WAY it all went down. So stupid.

If you're putting your hope in David Tepper right now, that's severely misplaced.

Tepper is the guy who said no to keeping him.

Cam was offer two years, Bus cook asked for 5 years, Cam said he wants to be here "just a little commitment".

Y'all cried about having a quailty backup, you think Tepper didn't see games last year. Did you notice the media comparison with Allen/Bridgewater

Bridgewater wanted a chance to start, if they don't push the trade rumor button, they might miss out on Bridgewater to CHI

Tepper “It’s a question of how healthy his foot and he is otherwise. And that’s still the number No. 1 overwhelming thing — to see how healthy he is and how we can figure out when he’s healthy or not. And everything comes from that.”

But in the meantime, Panthers got stronger and the Saints got weaker.

Now here's a fantasy for a Trade 3 way with Cam in ATL, Matt Ryan in New England.

That story's fake. The Panthers never offered an extension of any sort, and they weren't going to.

Like I said dude, you're just setting yourself up for disappointment.

Why would ATL want Cam over Ryan?

Even if they did, trading Ryan puts 68 mil dead money on the Falcon's books, unless Ryan inexplicably becomes the second Atlanta QB imprisoned for dogfighting, Falcons aren't getting rid of him.

Even then, they wouldn't cut him, as long as he's in prison, his salary doesn't count against the cap.

No back to back winning seasons.   Let's look at this thing realistically

He went to the playoffs 80% of the time and a SB with competent FO help. Guess he should have been the GM too. He did everything else.

You didn't see the word fantasy but Ok, for fun...

New England gets Ryan, "(round)pick"

(2) 38th, (2) 47th, (3) 87th

Atlanta gets Cam,

(1) 7th, (3) 69th, (3) 98th, (3) 100th,

And of course as your new assistant GM(I kid...) I present:

Car gets

(1) 16th, (1) 23th, (3) 78th (3) 87th
