Panthers To Allow Cam Newton To Seek Trade

And some of us said not to take what a team says about a player they're considering trading as gospel.

A team always wants to keep a player... right up until they don't.

I'm a Panthers fan. Cam is an exciting player to watch. The most exciting player this team has ever had. Close second is Steve Smith. I never want to lose players that make it fun to watch my team play on Sundays.

The biggest issue I have is that Cam will get traded for a 3rd or 4th rounder now, and he'll pick what team he goes to. This is actually good for Cam, but damn it sucks for the Panthers.

This was very clear this was going to happen. Panthers have been forshadowing this for months.

sure it has---and when people (like Snow) and I tried to read the tea leaves in an objective fashion and analyze the business side of this, we were attacked with venom by random Cam groupies, worshiping at the alter of the 1.  It was horrible.  The inhumanity.   Dance Flowers GIF by A24

I don't have any problem with dumping Cam, CMC, anybody, but creepy dishonesty is such a drag. Why wear Panthers gear and show up to the game when the guys running the show are scummy liars? This fan base deserves better. Don't you cut liars out of your life? Any more dishonesty from Rhule/Tepper and I'm done with the Panthers.

It will be interesting to see how this ultimately plays out.

There has to be a lot more to this story than we know.

Wait a tick---SF moved on from Montana.

Are you suggesting the fans want to pay $21m per year for an injured QB?

If your response is, "No--he is healthy now!!!"

I would tell you that we have already given him $21m per year to be injured---twice during this contract.  I would tell you that we have head your comment before---twice---and now again?  Sorta Deja vu deja vu?

One big  factor that everyone here is ignoring, the T Brady factor. IF or where CAM could be traded to is related to where TB ends up. LV & TENN have moved on, but others are still in play. CAM's camp & the Panthers wants someone to commit or not to a trade and get out of the TB race. When no one has, Panthers told CAM's camp we don't want an early extendsion  you can talk trade with others.
