If Weatherly or Burris(another one, huh) goes on to have a career/1st team all-pro year the comp pick changes too. Along with the money; snaps, stats, all factor in too. The formula is bizarre.

Yeah, that's purely based off annual money.  Annual salary figures generally hold up as best indicator of comp pick round, but not always as you just noted.

Bruns sat every snap we played in the 4-3. We will also need a better MLB than Miller. It would make total sense if Luke was here but not much since he's gone. I mean it is what it is. We are going to suck one way or another. Just a bigger rebuild going to a 4-3.

And he played in a 4-3 3 years in college... Stop typing.!@

Not really. Those can add a bit but the forecasts, which are usually right, go by salary. It’s way too subjective to use the other stuff. Also, I think it’s way less of a formula and more of a estimate based on salary and then based on trying to get to 32 picks and an even spread across the 3rd to 7th. I’d bet the “other” things are more about tiebreakers for order in a round and possibly deciding who gets the last pick in each round.

Honestly, if you go by salary tiers from the prior years it’s pretty much 95-100% right. One of the salary cap web sites is pretty dead on every year.

It's better to learn form our errors and scrap the 3-4 now than giving it the ole college try for another draft.  Yeah, it sucks, but we are essentially talking about two guys.  I think Haynes was a bad pick from word go.  He Had Everette Brown written all over him, just not nearly as high.  Miller was a day 3 pick too.   If we can salvage Burns, then Ron's experiment wouldn't have done too much long-term damage.

253 lbs and he bulked up to that... Did I mention he sat every 4-3 down. Maybe get the poo out of your ears.

So the fug what?? He had 2 starting quality players better against the run in front of him...  So like many other rookies he was a backup... And reality check this signing doesn't mean we're going to a 4-3 exclusively.. The guy can play a 3-4 as well..

But it is stupid to think a 6'5 250lb guy who played DE in college can't play it in the NFL.. Especially when smaller guys have done it...

Oh and just to get this out there... 1 full NFL offseason with NFL training and nutrition staff.. Who's to say how big he is now?? Miller to..

    • Hope Koch recovers (he’s stated numerous times he doesn’t like to be called “koochie”) soon. But he does not instill confidence in the crease. I don’t have any confidence in any of our goalies, healthy or not. Andersen when available gives us the best chance to win but he’s never available.    Team has to explore trade options soon.
    • Respectfully, I completely disagree. Last year we were:  32nd in Sacks. 32nd in Turnovers.  32nd in Rushing TDs allowed  29th in Scoring.  We were absolutely atrocious on defense last year and that was with a full stable of weapons in Derek Brown, Frankie Luvu and Brian Burns that played all 17 games.  Using yards per game as a metric to guage our success lacks the context that because our offense was so inept teams were not driving the length of the field, they were starting at their 40-50 yard line.  This year, our Defense ranks:  31st in Sacks. Tied for 19th in Turnovers  31st in Rushing TDs allowed 32nd in Scoring  His defense fails to get pressure, fails to turn the ball over and fails to stop the run. Three things you absolutely have to do to be successful in the NFL.  Denver meanwhile has not missed a beat without him.  If another team wants to hire him as a HC and the Panthers get two 3rds for it I'll wish him the best and pack his bags myself.
