I have a feeling this is more Rhule and Snow.  My gut tells me Hurney is just a figure head right now.

This. Both of these signings have Rhule written all over them. Guys lost in the shuffle that offer some upside. The later rounds of the draft will be interesting as well.

Could not really do it well anyway without knowing for sure about the 4-3. AND the draft is not good at DE.   I feel happy about DE..

Possibly the reason the staff is attacking DE in FA.  I agree, this is a mediocre draft for DE.  I was mocking day 3 anyhow because that's where I saw the best value and yes, if mocking one, a 4-3 guy.

I think we significantly overpaid, but I hope he's great.

Nearly all day one free agency deals are a overpay. Hes the panthers starting DE and 6 mill is cheap for that spot. Viking know DEs like the Steelers know WRs. I trust their scouts and coaching over ours on DEs, besides no matter its only two years. Imagine 5 year for 33 million for him. If he blows up either way- Panthers wave bye in two years or get the chance at 3rd round comp the other.

Now that safety signing is typical train wreck Herniay behind the controls. Local-check

More money than any other teams combined where offering-check

Sure thing. You realize we paid Addison $4M for the 24.5 sacks.

Ah, I guess you took me literally— my point was we think his best is yet to come and aren’t paying for past performance but future which is a good thing to aim for.

But, if you want to take me literally, then Addison getting (let’s round up) 25 sacks in 4 years, 6.25 per year at $4m stacks up just fine against 24.5 sacks in 2 years, 12.25 sacks per year for $12m.

Replacing a guy with 39 sacks over the past four seasons with a guy with 6 sacks over the past four seasons. Hurneymagic!!!

We're of course not going to sign a top guy and we're not going after any over the hill vets who will remained unsigned even after the draft.

I like this and the Burris signings.  Still very young, not a ton of money but investments beyond a 1-yr deal and it's not some aging stop-gap vet.  If we luck out, we have them for 2 years and can work out an extension.

Totally respectable so far.

I would love this if it was a 4 or 5 year deal with the same money. Problem is it’s 2 that’s the issue. 25 with potential sign me up but a 2 year deal for 2-3x what his market is....oof no thanks

You have no clue his value. Thanks for playing though.
