Yep, probably already has an assurance from Rivera. I can't imagine a 32 year old special teamer asking for his release from a contract that was set to pay him over $1M this season.

Especially since most teams don’t typically sign players who only contribute ST and nothing else (and the league rules keep making STs less and less important).
