REPORT: Panthers will not tank, working more of a mixed reboot than total rebuild.

As long as Cam Newton is on the roster there won't be a need for a rebuild. Those teams you listed have never had a player at the Qb position like we have unless you go all the way back to the 80's. You build around those kind of players and I'm ecstatic that the Panthers made the right choice and stuck with Cam and are FINALLY putting some legit offensive coaching and offensive talent around him. It only took what, 9 years? Look at what Arizona just did for their young Quarterback, they went out and got one of the BEST WRs in the GAME. Imagine if we did that for Cam in his 2nd or 3rd year, instead he got an offensive lineman drafted as his #1 WR. Can't wait to see what Joe Brady and Cam can accomplish together.

this borders on delusion

Funny how people on here wanna give people like Tre Boston so much money. No other teams will give him much. This may be the case Bradberry, I believe we overate a lot of our players. I would like to re-sign James if he doesn't get offered as much as he thinks he will.

Okay I was def wrong about Bradberry :fear:

this right here is the one singular thing above all else ive been afraid of.

It's the textbook rationalizing of bad franchises, it's how you get end up like the dolphins or buccaneers, always going 7-9, picking in the middle of the draft, never good enough to win anything, never bad enough to actually build a super bowl roster. It's a testament that not everybody in the organization is on the same page. There are too many people who need a decent season to keep hanging around.

The team needs to just accept where we are at and start building. The rhetoric earlier in the off season was far more encouraging. This sounds like omen for a Miami dolphins like stint of mediocrity.

It's just a report, I guess, and the fire sale otherwise suggests it may not be true. But the panthers are exactly the organization that would get sucked into the alluring lie of a "partial rebuild."

hey man the 2019 offseason was built on half measures and the team won four games in a row at some point in the season and that was exciting for some ppl

What did I say that wasn't true? Delusion? You sure you know what that word even means? You're the one who is delusional if anything. Especially since 1. You think you know more about how to build a team than Matt Rhule does and 2. You think tearing down this franchise to nothing is the way to not be like the Buccaneers, Dolphins, or Browns. I'll say it again. None of the bad teams in the NFL has ever had an MVP talent at the quarterback position like the Carolina Panthers have currently. Unless we go ALL THE WAY BACK to the 80's and are talking about Dan Marino. Teams with good Quarterbacks simply don't rebuild the way you are talking about even when they change Head Coaches. Again, what is Delusional about what I said? Or were you talking about the part about surrounding your franchise Qb with weapons? Either way, I really don't think you know what that word means

That is exactly what Tepper has said he doesnt want to do.  He wants to build a solid foundation and sustain success.  Flinging crap against the wall (IE signing free agents) and hope they work out is the exact opposite of what he has said.  Even if we have a incredible draft a la saints 2016 there are simply too many holes on this team to be good.

The Saints let Mike Shula put 30 on them multiple times in 2017, they don't have some powerhouse defense. The offense is championship level, The defense will be mediocre.

Panthers Fan: If defense isn't top 10 we're trash

Reality: SB champion 18th defense in the league in the regular season.

So the offensive line can only get better, Cam with TWO years of rest and healing (not considering two games), DJ Moore and CMC with record breaking campaigns...

Point out to me sir how that offense has no chance of leading a team to a 7 seed? The defense is not going to be great, but for god sakes KC and LA had a 60-55 shootout and both teams made the playoffs a few years back.

Know why we've sucked? A defensive coach is in a league that knows people today.have no interest in 16-10 match ups. The leagues are geared towards offense and we have the offense to win a SB THIS YEAR...

QB: Cam Newton

RB: CMC WR1:

DJ WR2: Samuel

l WR3: FA

LT Okung

LG Little

C Paradis (good offensive play calling and a year removed from injury will do him well),

RG: Van Roten (Or FA)

RT Moton.

Why can this offense not be top 10? Steve Smith is running his mouth and now the whole damn fanbase is convinced DJ sucks... The same man said he would replace him, SS is analyst and said Talib was weak... One has a ring and one doesn't.

If Cam plays 2017 level... We have a shot, we beat NE 33-30, not 17-13... Calm the heck down and realize sometimes youth on defense is good. Some days the young bucks will show up and play top defense, some days they will allow 40.

I'd rather see Donte Jackson get burned then see Mike Adams and Tre Boston miss tackles some more.

At least the organization now realizes it isn't working and is trying something new. Rivera would've made 2-3 changes and ran the same 6-10 team out and publicly wonder why they went 5-11.
