Yea Hurst was a 1st round pick got hurt and was behind some good TEs that just means the Ravens draft very well

The Falcons got a 1st round talent to line up next to Julio and Ridley i bet he puts up good numbers for them

I never got Ozzie drafting TEs every year like he did, two different times he drafted 2 TEs in the same draft.

I would not be surprised if Hurst puts up 700 yards, I still think its a robbery even though he was a 1st. Plus hes already 2 years into his contract, thats another negative in my eyes. They did have a extra 2nd and very tight on cap space, so I get that. Just low 2nd is far too rich for me. That pick is the perfect landing for TE Cole Kmet too, thats the better play.

In 2019, Collins appeared in all 16 games for the Patriots and recorded 81 tackles, seven sacks, three interceptions, a defensive touchdown, three forced fumbles, a recovery and seven passes defended. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 16 receiver out of 89 qualifying players.

You are surprised that a former TE would take a bunch of TEs? LOL

Ozzie also studied “under” Bill Belichick, who has taken a bunch of TEs.  Bill has taken 2 TEs in the same draft 3 times.

I think we need to look at our FA through the lens of the coaching staff. These are college guys with some limited NFL experience and they're bringing in a process/program to build here. We're going to be targeting young guys in FA like Burris and Weatherly because they are young, unproven, have the physical traits, shown some upside, and maybe most of all-- they can be molded/coached up. This staff knows at least at first that trying to run their system will take major buy-in and vets won't be having it. Getting these younger unknown guys in here is almost the same as a draft pick-- their time with the Panthers will be some of their formative growth experiences with real starting minutes.

It's good because it harkens back to our smart FA signings like Mike Mitchell. If we can turnover a whole team like that with guys on deals for a couple years, we can build here-- maybe faster than we think. I'm excited at getting untapped potential in here.

My guess was he thought TE was a QBs best friend, I member Todd Heap and Joe Cool connection. He wanted Lamar to have a safety net and kept drafting TEs til they got it. I had not thought of Bill doing similar drafting.

WoW lol .

Not as much of a LOL when you realize they have 9, yes 9, 1st and 2nd round picks in 2020 and 2021. Again, way overpaying but they have $89M in cap space with a ton of cheap talent being added that won’t cost much until 2025 or 2026 or 2027 (5 first round picks with 5th year options).

Indy trading the #13 for Buckner shocked the poo out of me.  What sucks about that is they would have been an ideal trade down partner had a QB got passed up by the Chargers or Dolphins.  Crap! :poo:

I dont think he was traded, just resign.

edit- nope he was traded and signed to a huge deal. My mistake.

Im fairly sure Herniay will "invest" a huge chuck of that incoming space on panther players.

Panthers will have the worst roster after the draft.
