Rhule seemed pretty high on wanting to work with and see Ian Thomas.  Was actually one of the first players he mentioned,  talking how he recruited him coming out if HS.

Thomas was a raw high upside guy coming into the draft who exceeded expectations year 1.  Dont see them giving up on him.  And wanting to see him him the the offense before pursuing someone else.

I take anything Rhule says with a grain of salt. He’s good at coachspeak.

That dude will say whatever he thinks you want to hear. Nothing wrong with that for now, but eventually he'll get a rep as either a liar or a guy with no authority to make decisions.

Maybe, but it's not a ploy exclusive to Rhule.   It happens all the time with every coach and some are better at it than others.  The only thing you can take notice of is what they don't say which tends to tell you more than anything in the end.

I would say the opposite. Coaches good at coachspeak don't tip their hand one way or the other. Rhule just flat out lies.

He talks up every single player he’s asked about. Some are truthful some are not. Nobody knows which is which until transactions are made.

Certainly seems that way. It's gonna be a transition going from managing kids to managing grown ass men.

And I agree there should be some level of a transition. It's a very different dynamic. But honesty doesn't require a transition. Either you're honest or you aren't. Doubt that changed with coming to the NFL. Hopefully he starts to figure out that we just want to be able to take what he says at face value. I hate having to decipher what people meant when they say something.

I also hate when people try to decipher what I really meant when I say something. I mean what the freak I said. No need to read anything more into it - sorry personal rant from someone I know (mother-in-law)!

I wonder if we could've gotten Trent Williams for Trai Turner? I wonder if we even tried?

Don't know. I'm not the biggest Williams fan but he's probably better than Okung.

He sure as hell wouldn't have been cheaper, though
