I imagine they aren't moving on from Marty right now because of how green everyone else is in the organization.

^^^^^This and a brand new GM to the organization.  I don't have to like a bridge from Marty to the new GM, but it does make sense.  Again, shorter the overlap, the better though.

I mean, in theory, the AGM could get hired after the draft and then Marty gets DFA'd to a different role with less impact on personnel. Transition from GM to some kind of Director or VP of something that can utilize his strengths (whatever those could truly be) so he's still with the organization.

Tepper said months ago this was happening lol.

Marty's eye for top talent is undeniable, I would put his 1st round grade again anyone.

But he is not able to effectively build a depth chart. The year after our SB showed his shortcoming with injury, I think a co-gm wouldn't be a bad idea. A guy who can build 2-3 at positions while Marty establishes starters.

Some of y'all need to pull your head out of your ass with Marty. Tepper in December acknowledged Marty's shortcomings.

Hurney did a good job with 1st round picks .  I thought he did a fair job last year as well .  Rivera just like Fox did not do a good job using the young talent he had . He relied on old veterans to do the job and when they got hurt he threw the young guns into the fire and when they struggled he put them in his dog house never to return .  To build a team you have to work those draft pics in and let then learn from their mistakes .  Allen struggled last year but gained valuable experience . Maybe he is a career backup or maybe more .  We once had a Cajun QB that did not make it on other teams until he was a Panther .He is now on our wall of fame .

My top choice right now would probably be Steelers pro personnel guy Brandon Hunt, but they might not give permission since word is they're looking at him as Kevin Colbert's successor.

Lake Dawson out of Buffalo would be a good choice too. So would Joe Schoen. I know people will mention Dan Morgan. I don't know that he's ready for a GM job yet but Marty might champion him.

If Marty is involved, it'd be pretty easy to see former Panther guys like Ryan Cowden and Trent Kirchner get calls. Hurney might want someone who's "friendly" to him.
