Last week, mask wearing in this part of NC was practically zero. It's still not great, but it's at least better than it was.

Okay, here are the recent numbers I'm finding on the interwebz from June 12th thru June 26th comparing deaths in New York vs Florida.  Please tell me how these numbers are so significantly different from eachother, and why these numbers mean Florida is a raging hell hole while NYC "basically is COVID free" as I saw one poster put it.

6/12 - 83 vs 30

6/13 - 50 vs 47

6/14 - 37 vs 6

6/15 - 41 vs 7

6/16 - 46 vs 55

6/17 - 48 vs 25

6/18 - 46 vs 43

6/19 - 67 vs 43

Man, I gotta say....I've heard so many ridiculous rants lately about how masks are depriving people of oxygen, which I originally dismissed as ignorant babbling...but based on these responses I'm having to deal with in here, a lack of oxygen to the brain would actually explain a lot.

I think everyone here wears masks, I know I do.  I hate the thing, but wear it.

Why is it that every time you talk numbers, there is the "wear your mask" quotes?

Maybe it changes the numbers?  Emotion trumps numbers?

When citing data you need to be clear and provide sources. You say New York and NYC but don't clarify which is in this data. Also not sure which column is which.

Also this chart suggests your data is wrong. June 26th has 14 deaths for the state of New York

Some interesting tidbits in here. Including...

The CEO of a major Houston hospital reports that 60% of their hospitalized COVID patients are under the age of 50.

The former head of the FDA says that half of the US population will likely contract COVID by the end of the year. On the one hand, this is a significant step toward herd immunity. On the other hand, we will see exactly what we hoped to avoid - namely widespread overrunning of our healthcare system leading to higher mortality rate from COVID and the unnecessary deaths of those who won't be able to get healthcare to treat other health ailments. We'll see people dying of treatable strokes, heart attacks, cancers, injuries, etc. 

Let's say the actual mortality rate of COVID is as low as 0.5%. Half of the US getting it would mean over 800k dead. That's basically the population of Charlotte disappearing. Given the decent likelihood of a vaccine as early as next spring this would be a brutal and very preventable massive loss of American lives. That's not even talking about the secondary loss of life from those other previously mentioned issues due to the healthcare system being overrun.

The operative word in all of my posts has been “trends”...everything you’ve posted thus far demonstrates to me that you have no clue what trends are, and I’m not gonna help you with something that you can google on your own time. I’ve repeatedly stated that NY is trending in the right direction, Florida however is not.

So you went from arguing a strawman to now making me argue someone else’s claim about NY being COVID-free. Jesus, how about you just clue me in on what exactly you would like me to argue cause I can’t keep up with your ever changing version of it.
